Enjoy the surreal greenery and the cold weather of the mountains. Imagine having Maggi on the hills of Kulu Manali with a hot cup of tea, that will not just be a dream anymore. But of course, just like other places, Himachal Pradesh government also has some protocols that need to be followed.

Travellers will now require a hotel booking before entering the state. That is not all, you need to also have a minimum of a five-day booking in your hotel.

Just like the other states, you also need a recent COVID-19 test proving that you have not contracted the novel coronavirus. The test cannot be older than 72 hours prior to the entry in Himachal Pradesh.

Before planning your visit, the travellers will also have to register for an e-pass, which will allow them to travel interstates and cross borders.

However, the Manali Hoteliers Association was not at par with the government’s decision of opening the state borders and welcoming tourists. This was because of the high number of novel coronavirus positive cases across the country. As a result, many hotels have decided to stay shut until the month of September. This is another reason that you need to have an advance hotel booking before entering the state.

Himachal Pradesh is another state in India which is highly dependant on tourism revenue. The government has opened the borders after four months of being shut.

Get packing.
