Follow these steps to make the dish

Begin with heating some oil in a cooker. To this, add jeera, laung and badi elaichi. Now, add a pinch of dalchini. While one can also use a cinnamon stick but we prefer using the powder instead. 

Following this, add chopped onions and green chilli. Let it cook till the onions turn golden brown. Once done, add the ginger-garlic paste and saute it for a minute. Next up, add tomato pure and haldi powder. 

Cook it for about two minutes before adding boneless chicken. To this, add fresh cream and salt as per taste. You can also add a bit of red chilli if you wish to make the dish extra spicy. We haven’t used any in our dish. 

Finally, close the lid of the cooker and let the chicken cook for 10 minutes. Serve it in a handi either with naan bread or roti or mint paratha.

Who doesn’t like eating fish? It is light, full of protein and can be made in many different ways. Thinking about the different ways of making fish, we got a craving to eat one. So, we decided to wear our chef’s hat and do some experimenting.

We had a fresh piece of pomfret in our refrigerator, so we made masala pomfret. And to say the least, it was a short trip to heaven. This one is a no fuss, no muss recipe that will become your new favourite.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make masala pomfret

Pomfret fish 1 pcs
Garlic8 cloves
SaltAs per taste
Red chilliAs per taste
Roasted gram flour 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder1 tsp
Coriander powder1 tsp
Mustard oil 2-3 tsp
Banana leaves1-2 pcs
Butter1 tsp

Follow this method to make masala pomfret

Start with cleaning the fish. Once done, prepare the marination for the dish. Chop the garlic cloves finely to make a paste. After this, add salt and red chilli powder in the garlic paste. Then add roasted gram flour, turmeric powder and coriander powder. Finish the paste by adding a few drops of mustard oil.

Now, before coating the fish with the paste, grease it with mustard oil. It’s now time to wrap the fish in banana leaves. Wash the leaves and cut them in equal squares. Before wrapping the fish, heat the leaf a bit. This will protect the leaves from tearing apart.

After you have wrapped the fish with banana leaves, tie a thread around and put it in the refrigerator for one hour. It’s now time to cook the fish. There are two ways of doing this. Here, we have cooked the fish in the pan.

Heat the butter in a pan and put in the fish after unwrapping it and removing the banana leaves. Cook the fish for 3-4 minutes. You can also cook the fish in a steamer. Just put the wrapped wish in a steamer for 15-20 minutes and it will be ready!

Dark chocolate30 gms

Follow this method to make the chocolate brownie

Start with roughly chopping the dark chocolate cubes in a bowl. Put in butter and place the bowl in a microwave. Melt the two ingredients and keep them aside. You can also do this by using a double boiler. Now in a clean bowl, add brown and white sugar and put in a whole egg. Whisk the mix and put it the second egg. Keep whisking the mix till it gets smooth and frothy.

Once done, add the chocolate and butter mix and whisk again. Now, it’s time to add the dry ingredients. Put in all-purpose flour and coco powder after passing them through a sieve. After this, gently fold the mix to make a batter. This batter will be thicker than what you usually make for a cake.

Transfer the batter into a silicon mould or a greased tin mould. Bake the brownie cake in a pre-heated oven for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Keep checking if the brownie cake is cooked or not with the help of a knife. Once done, take out the cake out and let it cool. Now, you can either slice up the cake like brownies or just take a spoon and dig in.

Lauki ki kulfi! Making dessert using bottle gourd – RECIPE VIDEO

Have you ever thought of making a dessert using a vegetable? Here, we share with you our easy recipe for a delicious kulfi, which we have made using bottle gourd. Yes! It’s lauki ki kulfi.

The thing with experimenting is that you can try the craziest combinations and make a delicious dish. When you are in the kitchen, how often do you think of trying something new? For us, it’s a daily adventure. So recently, when we thought of making a dessert, we included one of the most healthy vegetables in it. 

We made a kulfi by using lauki or bottle gourd. Now, if you have a kid at home, you would know how difficult it is to feed them vegetables like this one. But, we have found a delicious way to give them all the nutrients. This way, the kids will get a tasty treat and would not know that they are eating bottle gourd. 

Not just this, you can also serve this yummy desert to your guests if you are hosting a small get together. Our recipe can easily serve 10 to 15 people. 

Here are the ingredients you would need for lauki ki kulfi 

Full cream milk3.5 litre 
Bottle gourd 1 kg 
Hari elachi (green cardamom)5 pcs
Kesar (saffron)A pinch
Sugar1 3/4 cups 
Chopped almonds10-15 pcs
Chopped cashews10-15 pcs
Chopped postachios10-15 pcs

Follow this method to make lauki ki kulfi at home 

Start with peeling and chopping the bottle gourd. Cut it into small pieces. Put the pieces into a mixer-grinder and grind them with milk to make a paste. You can use one litre milk to grind one kilo bottle gourd. 

Now, pour the remaining milk in a pressure cooker and add the bottle gourd mix in it. Following this, add hari elaichi and kesar in the cooker and close the lid. Make sure that you turn off the gas before the whistle. 

Once the steam is out, let the mix cook on low flame for 1-2 hours. After the mix reduces, add sugar and chopped dry fruits. Transfer the mix in small bowls and let it cool. 

After the mix cools down, transfer it into containers (for storage) and decorate it with chopped dry fruits. Put the containers in the freezer for 2-3 hours. Once the kulfi freezes, cut it into small pieces and enjoy it with your loved ones. You can also use a kulfi container and make stick kulfi just like us.

Follow this method to make the cake:

Start with putting the butter, which is at room temperature, in a clean bowl. Whisk it for a minute and then put in condensed milk. Whisk the ingredients together until combined. Next up, add vanilla essence and mix again.

Now, add all-purpose flour after passing it through a sieve. Alternate it with cold milk and mix all the ingredients together to form a batter. Finally, add baking powder and mix again.

Once your batter is ready, pour it in a tin or silicon baking tray. Put the baking tray in a pre-heated oven for 20-25 minutes at 180 degree Celsius.

Before taking out the cake from the oven, check if it is fully cooked with the help of a knife. Once done, take the cake out of the oven and let it cool. After the cake cools down, slice it into pieces and enjoy it with a fresh cup of joe.

Find out the ingredients you will need to make the cheesecake

Digestive biscuits 1 pkt
Butter50 gms
Cream cheese 180 gms
Sour cream 200 gms
Sugar1 cup
Fresh cream 50 gms
Egg2 pcs
Cornflour 3 tbsp
Vanilla essence 4-5 drops
Lemon juice1 tsp

Read on the method

Start with making the base for the cheesecake. Take digestive biscuits and crush them either in a blender or by using your hands. Once crushed, add melted butter in the biscuits and mix well. Now, take a baking tray and line the base with a parchment paper.

Put the biscuit crumbs in the tray and set it with the help of a spoon. Now, take a piece of butter and rub it on the sides of the baking tray and stick parchment paper on it. Cover the exterior of the baking tray with a tin foil. Keep the tray aside.

Next up, take a clean bowl and put cream cheese and sugar in it. Start whisking till the two ingredients are combined. Now, add sour cream in the mix and after stirring for a while, add fresh cream. Keep tasting the mix in between to see if it is well balanced or not.

Once the ingredients are combined, add the eggs and whisk again. Now, add cornflour, vanilla essence and lemon juice in the mix. Your batter for the cheesecake is ready.

Know how to bake the cheesecake

Take the baking tray and pour the batter in it. Heat the oven at 180 degree Celsius and put the baking tray on an oven tray and fill it with hot water. Let the cheesecake bake for 30 minutes.

Once the timer goes off, continue baking the cheesecake at 150 degree Celsius for 30 more minutes. After that, let the cheesecake be in the oven for one hour.

Now, take the cheesecake out of the oven and let it cool. Following this put the cake in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours.

Post this, take out the cheesecake from the mould and put in the refrigerator again for 6-7 hours. After what will feel like an eternity, you will finally get to eat the yummy cheesecake.

If you wish, you can also take any seasonal fruit and make a puree to top the cheesecake.

Chicken winglets500 gms
Dark soy sauce1 tsp
White vinegar 1.5 tsp
Chilli powder1 tsp
Ginger (chopped)1 tsp

Cornflour 1/4 cup
Egg1 pcs
All-purpose flour2 tbsp

Method for the marination:

Take the chicken winglets whose meat has been cut from the bone to look like a lollipop. Put them in a bowl and add salt, pepper and red chilli powder. Mix them well. Now, add chopped ginger and garlic along with some dark soy sauce and white vinegar. Using your hand, mix all the ingredients together and let the chicken rest for 30 minutes.

Once the marination is done, add cornflour and all-purpose flour in the bowl along with an egg. If you wish, you can add a pinch of red chilli powder and salt. Coat all the winglets evenly.

Following this, line a baking tray with foil and place the winglets on it. Bake the chicken for 15-20 minutes at 180 degree Celsius till golden brown.

Know the ingredients you’ll need to make the sauce:

Oil 1 tbsp
Ginger (chopped)1 tsp
Garlic (chopped)1 tsp
Onions (chopped)1 pcs
White vinegar1 tbsp
Brown sugar1 tsp
Dark soy sauce2 tsp
Schezwan sauceAs per taste
Tomato ketchup1 tbsp

Method to make the gravy for Drums of heaven:

To make the gravy, pour the oil in a pan. To this, add chopped ginger and garlic, and sauté them for a minute. Now, add the chopped onions and let them cook. After this, add schezwan sauce, followed by dark soy and tomato ketchup.

Now, it’s time to add white vinegar and brown sugar. Let the sauce cook for a minute on high flame. If you feel that the sauce is too thick, then you can add some water and let it boil.

Once the chicken lollipops are baked, take them out of the oven and toss them in the sauce. Enjoy them hot with your favourite drink.

Start with boiling water in a pan and add pasta in it. While the pasta cooks, in another pan, pour olive oil. Once the oil heats, add chopped onions and let them sauté. After this, add chopped tomatoes and garlic. Cook the ingredients for two minutes.

Following this, add tomato ketchup, schezwan sauce and salt along with some pasta water, and bring them to a boil. Now, add cheese spread or any cheese of your preference along with fresh cream. Stir well and your gravy is ready.

Drain the pasta and add it into the gravy. Mix them well. Now, add chopped capsicum and heat the pasta on low flame. Finish off the dish by putting oregano and chilli flakes.

Method

Let’s start with prepping the potatoes. Take medium to large size potatoes and peel them after washing nicely. Cut them making equal fingers and put them in a pan to boil. Add a pinch of salt in the water and stir well.

Once boiled, strain the water and spread the potato chips on a baking tray. Put a few drops of oil over the potatoes and place them in the oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celcius.

While the potatoes are getting cooked, prepare the sauce. For the sauce, in a heated pan, add oil. Then put chopped onions and let them sauté for a minute. To this add dried red chillies and salt.

Next up, add tomato ketchup and schezwan sauce. You can add a spoonful of water if you think the sauce is too thick. Let it come to a boil and then add honey.

After the potatoes are ready, toss them in the sauce and top the dish with toasted white sesame seeds while serving.

Here’s the ingredients you’ll need to make khaman dhokla

MTR ready mix khaman dhokla(180 gms)
Oil1 tbsp
Mustard seeds (sarso)1 tsp
Asafoetida (hing)1/4 tsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Curry leaves (kadi patta)5-10 leaves
Green chilli3-4 pcs
Coriander (dhaniya)For topping

Know the method to make the dish below

In a bowl, put the MTR mix powder. To this, add water and make a batter by mixing well. Once done, pour the batter into a greased tray and put it in a steamer for 5-10 minutes.

During this time, make the topping that will give the dish it’s real taste. For this, take a small pan (tadka pan) and pour oil in it. Then add hing and sarso, and let them cook for a minute. Following this add sugar, green chillies and kadi patta along with some water and let the mix come to a boil.

Now, once the dhokla is cooked, take it out of the steamer and let it cool down for a minute. Take the topping mix and pour it over the dhokla. Top the dish with fresh coriander leaves. The complete process will take you hardly 10-15 minutes.

You can either serve the khaman dhokla in the dish you cooked it or can transfer it in a serving tray.

Here’s, how you can make the super simple dessert at home

Take a sealed tin of condensed milk and put it in a pressure cooker. Make sure that you submerge the tin completely in water. Turn the flame on and let it whistle 2-3 times. Once the steam is out, take the tin and put it in an ice bath. This is probably the simplest way of making dulce de leche.

Following this, take a pack of digestive biscuits and crush them. You can either do this by putting the biscuits in a grinder or can do it with your hands. Once crumbled, add melted butter and mix well. This will make for the base of your pie.

Take the biscuit mix and put it on a greased tin baking tray. Put the tray in the oven for 5-10 minutes, depending on how brown you want the base to be, at 180 degrees.

Once the base is ready, open the condensed milk tin and pour the toffee on the top of the biscuit crumb. Put the baking tray in the refrigerator and let it set.

Now, take a break for some tips! If you don’t want to bake the base of your pie, you can simply put the biscuit mix in the baking tray and put it in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.

And for the second tip, if the condensed milk doesn’t turn into toffee in the pressure cooker and you have opened the tin, then you can just pour the liquid in a non-stick pan and cook it on low flame.

Coming back to the banoffee pie…

Take the bananas and slice them evenly. Decorate the pieces on the top of toffee and keep it aside. Following this, take fresh cream and start whisking it. After what will feel life a lifetime of whisking, you will get whipped cream.

Spread the whipped cream on the top of the bananas evenly. For the final step, take a piece of dark chocolate and grate it. Use the grated chocolate to top the pie.

Here, we have listed three easy recipes that will prove helpful.

Spaghetti

Know the ingredients you will need to make the spaghetti:

Spaghetti pasta200 gms
Garlic3-4 cloves
Tomato1 pcs
Onion1/2 pcs
Olive oil1-2 tsp
Schezwan sauceAs per taste
Tomato ketchup1-2 tsp
Cheese spreadAs per requirement
Fresh creamAs per requirement

Cook the pasta by boiling it in a pan. Meanwhile, take another pan to make the sauce. In the pan, add olive oil followed by chopped garlic and chopped onion, and let it cook for 2-3 minutes. To this, add chopped tomato.

Next, add schezwan sauce, tomato ketchup along with some pasta water. Bring the gravy to a boil. Then add cheese spread or any cheese of your choice along with some fresh cream. Finish the sauce by adding salt, oregano and chilli flakes. Drain the pasta and mix it with the sauce.

Salad

Check out the ingredients you will require to make the salad below:

Cucumber (cut into thin slices)1 pcs
Diced green capsicum1 pcs
Diced red capsicum1 pcs
Onion (cut into thin slices)1 pcs
Salt2 tsp
Black pepper2 tsp
Oregano1 tbsp
Fat-free mayonnaise3 tbsp
Sweet onion sauce1 tbsp
Sweet chilli sauce1.5 tbsp
Mustard sauce2 tbsp

To make this super easy salad, add all the veggies in a bowl and top them with fat-free mayonnaise, sweet onion, sweet chilli and mustard sauce. Mix all the ingredients together and season them with salt, black pepper and oregano.

You can add as many veggies as you like in this salad.

Marinate the chicken wings with salt, black pepper and red chilli powder, and let them rest. Then mix all-purpose flour, cornflour and salt in a plate. Dust the chicken wings with the mix. After this, line them on a baking tray and bake them for 20 minutes at 180 degrees in a pre-heated oven.

For the sauce, cook the ginger garlic paste on low flame. To this, add brown sugar and white vinegar, and mix well. Following this, add schezwan sauce along with tomato ketchup and finish it off with salt. Once the wings are cooked, toss them in the sauce.

Ingredients you’ll require to make the cake:

Dark chocolate50 gms
Condensed milk (milkmaid)1 tin
All-purpose flour (maida)1 cup
Cocoa powder2 tbsp
Baking powder1 tsp
Milk 1 cup
Chocolate for decorationAs per requirement

Easy-to-make dark chocolate cake

Follow this method to make the dark chocolate cake:

In a bowl, put butter and dark chocolate. Put the bowl in a microwave for about a minute. Once the ingredients melt, add condensed milk in the bowl and whisk the ingredients till combined. 

In a separate bowl, add all-purpose flour, cocoa powder and baking powder after passing through a sieve. With the help of a spoon, mix the ingredients. 

Now comes the tricky part. To make the batter, mix the dry and wet ingredients. Add the dry ingredients into the bowl with wet ingredients while alternating it with milk. 

While whisking you should take care that lumps don’t form in the batter. Once done, pour the batter in a baking tray. Now, if you are using a silicon mould, you don’t need to oil it, but if you are using an aluminium tray, you can grease it with oil. 

Easy-to-make dark chocolate cake

Following this, put the baking tray in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes. 

Once done, take the cake out and with the help of a wooden skewer, check if it is fully baked or not. If cooked properly, set the cake aside to cool down. 

Now, it’s time to make the ganache for decoration. As fancy as the word ‘ganache’ sounds, it super simple to make. All you’ll need to do is, put cream and dark chocolate in a bowl and heat it either on a stove or microwave. Once the cream starts heating up, whisk it to combine with the chocolate. Let it cool down for a minute or two, then pour it on the cake. 

As a finishing touch, you can put chocolates like Gems and Kit Kat on the cake. And, your decadent dark chocolate cake is ready.

Schezwan sauce As per requirement
Tomato ketchup 1 tsp

Method:

Now, we tell you how to make the topping. In a bowl, add cucumber and capsicum followed by mayonnaise. Then add schezwan sauce depending on how spicy you want the topping to be. Round it off by adding a little bit of tomato ketchup. 

If required, you can add a pinch of salt and pepper as well. We haven’t put any in our dish. Mix all the ingredients properly to make the topping. Once done, place the biscuits on a serving plate and put the topping in the middle.

If you are someone who loves tomato ketchup, you can add a drop of it over the topping. And, just like that, your evening snack is ready! 

While it tastes delicious on salty biscuits, you can also put the mix as a filling in your sandwich or use this as a filling for pita pockets.

Follow this Method to make Khao Suey at home

Start with boiling the noodles in a pan.

The best thing about Khao Suey is that you can put all the vegetables you like, from mushrooms, broccoli and carrots to peas and capsicum, anything and everything goes with this dish. We have taken carrots along with yellow and red capsicum.

In another pan, heat some oil. Add finely chopped ginger and garlic. After about 30 seconds, add green chillies along with dried red chillies. Saute for another 30 seconds.

Add chopped carrots and let them cook for a minute with the other things in the pan on low flame. Finally, add turmeric powder and mix well. Turmeric is a very crucial spice in Burmese cooking.

Following this, add coriander powder and mix well. Let it cook for good 2-3 minutes.

Next comes the star of the dish! Add coconut milk along with a dash of water and let it cook nicely. Keep checking on the noodles. Once done, strain them.

To give the curry of Khao Suey its taste, add sugar and soya sauce. This is the perfect time to add capsicum. Let this beautiful yellow curry cook for another 5 minutes.

Place the curry on a shallow plate with some boiled noodles.

For the garnish, you can use fried onions, spring onions, shallow fried peanuts, fried garlic and some onion wedges.

Which is why, we are here with a super easy and ‘oh, so yummy’ recipe of our all-time favourite spaghetti. 

Here’s all you’ll need for homemade spaghetti

Follow this method to make the dish 

Start with boiling some water in a pan. Add a pinch of salt along with the pasta. While the pasta is getting cooked, take another pan to make the sauce. 

Put olive oil in the pan and put the flame on medium. Add chopped garlic and once they turn golden, add chopped onion. After 2-3 minutes, add chopped tomato. Let it cook for 5-7 minutes. 

Once the tomatoes start to turn soft, add schezwan sauce, tomato ketchup along with some pasta water. Bring the gravy to a boil. 

Next, add cheese spread or any cheese of your choice along with some fresh cream. Finish the sauce by adding salt, oregano and chilli flakes. 

Once the pasta gets cooked, drain the water and put the spaghetti in the sauces, and toss it well. Enjoy with your loved ones as this much quantity will serve two to three people.

BESAN KI BARFI RECIPE: Easy dessert to take your taste buds on a ride

Try this easy-to-make besan ki barfi recipe at home and become the best dessert chef in your family. 

Food and especially desserts are a mood booster. But when you put your heart and sweat in making the dessert, it is much more delicious. This simple besan ki barfi recipe will take your taste buds on a ride and will make you the most famous chef in your family.

Ingredients for homemade besan ki barfi:

200 gms of clarified butter or ghee
325 gms of besan 
1.5 tsp of cardamom powder
360 grams of granulated white sugar 
140 ml of water 
Spoonful of chopped pistachios for garnishing

Follow this method to make the barfi

Start with placing a parchment paper on a dish and keep it aside.

In a pan, add ghee and heat it on medium flame. After this, sift the besan and add it into the pan, and stir. 

At first, the besan will clump, but continue stirring. After 10-15 minutes of stirring, the beans will loosen up and become smooth. Once you get the consistency of a smooth paste, add cardamom and let it cook for another five minutes.

Easy to make besan barfi

Remove the besan from the flame and let it cool. During this time, you can prepare the sugar syrup.

In another pan, add sugar and water, and let them mix on a medium flame. Once the sugar is fully dissolved, lower the flame and let it simmer for another 5-6 minutes until it comes to a one-string consistency.

To check the one-string consistency, put a drop of the syrup between two fingers and pull them apart, if you see a thread, you have the perfect consistency. Remove the syrup from the flame.

If your besan has come down to the room temperature, add the sugar syrup and mix the two. Stir until the sugar syrup combines with the besan, do not stir for a long time.

Transfer the final mixture to the dish lined with parchment paper and let the burfi set for an hour. Cut into pieces and enjoy your homemade besan ki burfi.

Method to cook baked chicken wings:

Marinate the chicken wings with a little bit of salt, black pepper and red chilli powder, and let it rest for 15-20 minutes. Mix all-purpose flour, cornflour and a pinch of salt in a plate. Put each chicken wing on the plate and make sure the mixture covers each piece nicely. 

Layer a baking tray with foil and place the chicken wings on it. Make sure not to overload and keep some distance between each piece. Sprinkle just a little oil on each chicken wing and bake for 20 minutes at 180 degrees celsius in a pre-heated oven.

While the chicken wings are in the oven, it is time to make some sauce. In a non-stick pan, heat some olive oil. 

When the oil gets warm, add ginger garlic paste and let it cook on low flame. Once done, add brown sugar and white vinegar, and mix it well.

For the next step, add schezwan sauce along with tomato ketchup and let it cook. Finally, add salt to taste and once the sauce cools down a little, toss the wings in the pan and lather them with the sauce.
