Nighttime beauty routine for flawless skin

Our step-by-step guide to an easy nighttime beauty routine

Let’s be honest, taking care of the skin is difficult, but you don’t have to worry anymore. Here, we bring to you a step-by-step guide to help you nurture your skin before going off to bed. Read our nighttime beauty routine.

From purchasing every available product in the market to trying every natural remedy listed online, we put in a lot of effort to make our skin look supple and flawless. To achieve our ultimate goal, it is very important that we treat our skin right, put the same products and follow the same routine.

If you are someone who is looking for a guide to take you through a nighttime beauty routine, then you have come to the right place. We have listed a nine-step beauty routine that you should follow religiously before heading to bed.

Before you put anything on your face, make sure that you clean it first. It is very important to wipe off the dirt that may be clogging your pores. For this, we use Johnson’s baby skincare wipes. These are perfect for those who have sensitive skin.

Sheet Mask

This is an optional step but we do it every alternate day or at least once in three days. Using a sheet mask not only relaxes your skin but also gives it a hydration boost. You can also make a homemade face mask if you have time and the required ingredients. For a quick fix, we always depend on The Face Shop’s sheet masks.

One should always have a face roller in their beauty kit. Massaging the skin is very important to keep it tight. If you massage your face with a roller, it increases the blood circulation, making your skin look bright and lively.

Next step is to awaken the skin and start the process of moisturisation. A face mist is just perfect for this. We have been using Kama’s vetiver water. Just a spritz of this will make your skin super fresh.

Having an even tone is very important if you are aiming for a flawless skin. A toner will help you achieve that. It also helps tighten open pores. For this step, we love using Plum’s green tea toner. The biggest advantage of this one is that it is alcohol-free.

This is one of the most important steps and you should never miss it. Moisturising the skin is a must no matter what season it is. To keep the skin supple and soft, we depend on Cetaphil’s daily advance ultra hydrating lotion. While at it, don’t forget about your lips. To keep our lips hydrated, we love using Maybelline New York’s baby lips.

Essential oil

This is also an optional step but we would recommend that you add an essential oil or a night serum to your beauty kit. Different essential oils have different benefits and you should pick the one that meets all your requirements. Nykaa’s rose essential oil is our all-time favourite.

Under eye cream

With the kind of stressful life that we lead, having dark circles is inevitable, which is why, it is very important for you to focus on them. To combat dark circles and under eye puffiness, we depend on Urban Botanics’ sweet almond oil and natural vita rich under eye cream by The Moms Co.

Sleep mask

Coming to the last step of our nighttime beauty routine, give your skin a chance to rejuvenate and repair while you sleep by putting on a sleep mask. The best one to opt for is the one that is water based. Laneige’s water sleeping mask is our current favourite.

Kama Ayurveda pure vetiver water review

PRODUCT REVIEW – Kama Ayurveda pure vetiver water

Beat the heat and say goodbye to excess and unwanted oil. With the help of Kama Ayurveda vetiver water, you can get the healthy and supple skin you always dreamt about.

The weather was just fine, but then, suddenly, the sun was way too bright and the humidity level was way too high. It was then, that we realised, we have reached the peek summer and monsoon is just around the corner.

For most of us, this is the time when our skin starts acting up. The excess oil clogs our pores and it results in acne bursts. To avoid this, we need to keep our skin refreshed, oil-free and not to forget, moisturised.

Washing the face too many times can result in dry and flaky skin, so an easier way to keep the skin hydrated and to keep the unwanted oil at par, during this season, is by using face mists.

Now, there are many face mists in the market, some of them are amazing and some of them seem to be just water. This season, we thought of trying something new.

After getting multiple recommendations, we got our hands on Kama Ayurveda’s pure vetiver water. And to say the least, it is sheer magic.

When you spray the mist on your face, it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It gets absorbed very easily, leaving the skin refreshed. It also absorbs the excessive oil. When the heats get too much, you can use it multiple times.

Not just this, this vetiver water can also become a part of your beauty routine easily. A spritz or two before applying the toner and you are sorted. You can also put it instead of the primer when there is too much humidity.

In conclusion, we would say that once you try this vetiver water, there is no going back.

Homemade lip scrubs

Three-ingredient lip scrubs to keep chapped lips at bay

Just like the skin, taking care of our lips is also very important. Here, we have three-ingredient lip scrubs, which are super easy to make and need to be a part of your beauty routine.

When it comes to taking care of ourselves, we often forget about our lips, which are so sensitive and easily get affected by the changes around us. If the weather changes, even before the skin, you can see the effect on your lips. And, same is the case when you don’t keep yourself hydrated. Yet somehow, when we put multiple products on our face, from moisturisers to masks, we forget about our lips. And, with the kind of lifestyle we millennials have, just a stroke or two of lip balm is not enough.

Talking about beauty, we always have two options. We can either opt for store-bought products or can take the DIY route. While we can’t be sure about what all is there in the products we purchase, homemade products are au naturel, which is why they are better in every way.

Coming back to taking care of our lips, exfoliating them is very important to get rid of the dead skin. And one very effective way to do so is by using a scrub. Wondering how you can make a lip scrub at home? Here, we tell you three ways to make easy three-ingredient lip scrubs.

Three-Ingredient Lip Scrub – Coffee

Easy Coffee Lip Scrub

Not only for the skin, but coffee’s antioxidants properties are also amazing for your lips. To make this scrub, mix one tablespoon each of ground coffee and sugar with one teaspoon of olive oil.

Lemon Lip Scrub

Easy DIY lemon lip scrub

Rich in vitamin C, lemon will make your lips rosy. For this scrub, all you’ll need is to mix one tablespoon of sugar with half teaspoon each of lemon juice and olive oil.

Easy cinnamon lip scrub

If you wish to get fuller lips, then you should bookmark this lip scrub. To make it, mix one tablespoon each of sugar and honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder.

Coming to the application, you can apply these lip scrubs twice a week. While applying, take the scrub on the tip of your finger and gently massage your lips. Leave the scrub for 10-15 minutes, then wash it off with lukewarm water. However, before putting the scrub on your lips, try it on the back of your hand to check for allergies.
