Try this simple recipe for focaccia bread that always turns out delicious.
Bread is the best form of carbohydrates, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. The goodness of fresh warm garlic bread topped with melted butter dissolving in our mouth or the perfectly salted focaccia teamed with melted cheese, it is heavenly.
But with majority of bakeries not working at the moment, it is getting difficult to get these fancy loaves of breads and enjoy a gourmet cheese platter. But not anymore, amid the lockdown we wore our chef’s hats and became the baker that we always wanted to be. We tried a very simple recipe for focaccia bread and excelled at it. And we are going to share that recipe with you.
How to make focaccia bread?
|Vegetable Oil||2 tbsp|
In a bowl, add maida, yeast, salt and sugar. Mix them nicely. Once done with that, add yoghurt and mix again. Finally, add water to this mixture and knead a dough. Do not knead too much. Once the mixture takes shape of the dough, cover it with a little bit of oil. Finally, cover the dough with a wet cloth and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
After that, knead the dough again to remove the air from it. Once done, cover the dough again with a little bit of oil and keep aside for another 20 minutes.
For the next step, preheat your oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees. Grease your baking tray and keep the dough in it for 10 minutes so that it takes the shape of the tray.
Now, this is when you become artistic and add all the herbs and spices that you want your focaccia to have. We added oregano and rosemary. We also added olives and thinly sliced capsicum. Cover with a little butter on top.
Bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes and enjoy this delicious bread.
