For most days, we follow a strict diet and keep a check on what we are eating. But then, there are days when we set the foodie inside us free and enjoy soul food. We all would agree that nothing says comfort food more than French fries. Another version of these fries that we absolutely love is honey chilli potato.
Even if we are making a cheat meal for ourselves, we should avoid eating fried food. So, today, we decided to make oven baked honey chilli potato. Interesting, isn’t it? Find out how you can make the dish too.
Ingredients required to make honey chilli potato
|Oil||As per requirement|
|Onion (chopped)||1 pcs|
|Dried red chillies||2-3 pcs|
|Tomato ketchup||As per requirement|
|Schezwan sauce||As per requirement|
|Sesame seeds (toasted)||1 tsp|
|Salt||As per requirement|
Let’s start with prepping the potatoes. Take medium to large size potatoes and peel them after washing nicely. Cut them making equal fingers and put them in a pan to boil. Add a pinch of salt in the water and stir well.
Once boiled, strain the water and spread the potato chips on a baking tray. Put a few drops of oil over the potatoes and place them in the oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celcius.
While the potatoes are getting cooked, prepare the sauce. For the sauce, in a heated pan, add oil. Then put chopped onions and let them sauté for a minute. To this add dried red chillies and salt.
Next up, add tomato ketchup and schezwan sauce. You can add a spoonful of water if you think the sauce is too thick. Let it come to a boil and then add honey.
After the potatoes are ready, toss them in the sauce and top the dish with toasted white sesame seeds while serving.
