Goa is calling! The state opened for tourists on July 2, let’s go

If you are more of a beach person than a mountain person, there is some good news for you. Goa opened again for tourists yesterday.

Guess what, which state started welcoming traveller again from yesterday? It is none other than the party capital of India, Goa. If you also cannot wait to go to the beaches, its time. It was announced on July 1 by the government of Goa.

The beaches are open and calling you. Time to get back to Calangute and Baga and enjoy the fresh seafood. We have already started dreaming about the prawn curry and those king crabs.

But obviously, there are some new rules and some protocols that need to be followed. Let’s see what they are.

Protocols for entering goa

Every person entering the state will have to show a recently taken COVID-19 test and if they don’t have one, the tourist will have to get one while entering Goa. The tourists will also have to quarantine in a hotel room till the time the result is out.

The government is also making arrangements to get the results in a 24-hour span.

Approximately 250 hotels have been allowed to reopen. And, all these hotels have to follow strict hygiene measures.

The visitor needs a prior hotel booking before entering Goa.

Tourists from all over India are welcome in the state. You can come via a flight or drive in your own car. If you live in Bombay or nearby areas and are planning to drive to Goa, you won’t require an inter-state permit anymore. Just a self-declaration is sufficient to cross the borders.

Quite a few restaurants have also opened and they have to follow strict social distancing policies. However, the bars are not functional at the moment.

Darjeeling is another city that is welcoming guests now.
