Vande Bharat Mission will enter into phase 5. With the new phase comes new flights and new destinations from where stranded Indians will be brought back.
The government of India started the Vande Bharat mission in an attempt to bring home the Indians that were stranded away from home. The mission has brought back a lot of people and reunited them with their families. However, now, the Vande Bharat mission is all set to cover larger distances.
Places like New Zealand, Australia, Philippines and Kyrgyzstan have also been added to the list. And now, people, who are stranded in these places, will soon be able to come back home. India’s Minister for Civil Aviation, Hardeep Singh Puri took to his Twitter and explained in more details about the same. From August 1, when the Vande Bharat Mission enters in its phase 5, these flights will start.
Let’s get in more detail about the Vande Bharat Mission
In this phase, which starts from August 1, the flights will be travelling to Canada, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, USA, UK, UAE, Oman, Singapore, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, Australia, Germany and France. This is an extremely good news for people who are not able to come back home.
Hardeep Singh Puri also mentioned why Hong Kong was not in the list in phase 5.
Civil aviation access is a matter of reciprocal bilateral arrangements. As far as flights to & from Hong Kong are concerned, the problem is that HK is not allowing flights from certain places of origin including India. @airindiain has applied for permission with the authorities.— MoCA_GoI (@MoCA_GoI) July 29, 2020
This does not mean that you can actually just take a flight and go on a holiday. The Vande Bharat mission is to bring the people back home.
