Today, we are going to share with you an easy recipe for besan ki sabzi. Not a lot of people know about it, but this secret gem will soon become your favourite thing to cook.

India, as a country, has an extremely vast food spectrum. People from different areas can make various dishes from the exact same ingredients and they never taste the same. Most of us have eaten a lot of dishes made out of besan aka gram flour, but none like the one we are about to share.

Today, we are going to share the recipe for a special dish made with besan. It is called Dhoka or besan ki sabzi. Let’s first talk about the ingredients that you will require for the dish.

Process of making besan ki sabzi

Ingredients:

Tomato puree 4 tbsp
Mustard oil100 ml

Dhaniya powder2 tbsp

Method:

For the first step, in a pan, add besan and mix one and a half spoon of ginger-garlic paste. To this, add salt and pepper according to taste and one tsp each of haldi, garam masala and red chilli powder and mix them well. Add water to this mixture and bring it to a thin consistency.

In a non-stick pan, add a tsp of ghee and cover the surface of the pan with it. For the next step, pour the besan liquid into the pan and start stirring on low flame.

The liquid will start taking the shape of a dough, that is good. Keep stirring until the entire mixture becomes a dough.

For the next step, cover a flat plate with ghee and put the dough on the thali. Flatten it, keep aside and let it cool. While the dough cools down, in a separate pan, add mustard oil and let it heat.

Add chopped onions to the oil. Once they turn brown, add two tbsp ginger-garlic paste along with tomato puree and saute for two minutes. To this add salt, pepper, garam masala, haldi, dhanya powder and red chilli powder and let them cook.

Cut the dough into squares and finally, put them in the pan. Mix well, making sure that each piece is coated nicely. Cook for two minutes and voila, your easy-peasy besan ki sabzi is ready.
