Since time immemorial, we have been listening that almonds are great for health. Every day, we should have some dry fruits. Having those either directly or soaking them in water for some time and removing the outer layer and then eating almonds is great.

We use almonds in our kitchen a lot. From adding them in kheer to making badam ka halwa or drinking badam flavoured milk or simply having almond milk, almonds are a big part of our lives and rightly so. Today, we are going to give you three science-backed reasons that prove they should be a part of our life.

Let’s first talk about the nutritional value of them. They give you fibre, protein, fat, vitamin E, manganese, magnesium and they also have some amount of copper and vitamin B2.

Almonds are a very good source of vitamin E. Vitamin E belongs to the family of fat-soluble antioxidants which helps protect the cell from oxidative damage. Meaning intake of these is great if you want healthy and supple skin.

2. Almonds can also help control the blood sugar level

Almonds have a lesser amount of carbs but a high amount of healthy fats and fibre. That is exactly why they are perfect for people who have diabetes. The magnesium that is present in almonds is one of the key factors in controlling the blood sugar levels.

3. They can help you lower cholesterol level 

A high amount of bad cholesterol aka LDL lipoproteins in the blood can result in heart diseases. Some studies have proved that almonds can lower the LDL levels, saving your heart.

We all love experimenting in the kitchen. Making new dishes is not only a treat for our taste buds but also boosts the mood. Recently, we thought of making a chicken dish but we wanted it to have North Indian flavours. So, we decided to make masala chicken.

And to say the least, it is just the perfect dish you can make for a special lunch. It is easy-to-make and the flavours are just amazing. Read on to know how you can make this yummy dish at home.

Check out the ingredients you’ll need to make the masala chicken

Cooking oil1 tbsp
Jeera (cumin)1 tsp
Laung (clove)3-4 pcs
Badi elaichi (brown cardamom)1 pcs
Dalchini (cinnamon)1/2 tsp
Onion (chopped)2 pcs
Green chilli1 pcs
Giger-garlic paste1 tbsp
Tomato puree1/2 cup
Boneless chicken 250 gms
Haldi powder (turmeric powder)As per taste
Salt As per taste
Cream 3-4 tsp
Masala chicken recipe

Follow these steps to make the dish

Begin with heating some oil in a cooker. To this, add jeera, laung and badi elaichi. Now, add a pinch of dalchini. While one can also use a cinnamon stick but we prefer using the powder instead. 

Following this, add chopped onions and green chilli. Let it cook till the onions turn golden brown. Once done, add the ginger-garlic paste and saute it for a minute. Next up, add tomato pure and haldi powder. 

Cook it for about two minutes before adding boneless chicken. To this, add fresh cream and salt as per taste. You can also add a bit of red chilli if you wish to make the dish extra spicy. We haven’t used any in our dish. 

Finally, close the lid of the cooker and let the chicken cook for 10 minutes. Serve it in a handi either with naan bread or roti or mint paratha.

Marshmallos, freshly baked cookies and chocolates, there is nothing that we do not like out of this lot. But can you imagine how great it would be if we put all three together. Two warm gooey cookies covered with nutella and joined with a layer of roasted marshmallow. It tastes as delicious as it sounds if not more. We highly recommend it. 

Nutella bites

Yes, exactly what it sounds like. Take a warm cookie, apply as much Nutella as you want and add seasonal fruits on top of it. We added mangoes and bananas and they were like little bites of heaven. It is a must try.

In today’s edition of making cooking simple for you, we share a super-simple recipe for masala pomfret. Check it out below.

Who doesn’t like eating fish? It is light, full of protein and can be made in many different ways. Thinking about the different ways of making fish, we got a craving to eat one. So, we decided to wear our chef’s hat and do some experimenting.

We had a fresh piece of pomfret in our refrigerator, so we made masala pomfret. And to say the least, it was a short trip to heaven. This one is a no fuss, no muss recipe that will become your new favourite.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make masala pomfret

Pomfret fish 1 pcs
Garlic8 cloves
SaltAs per taste
Red chilliAs per taste
Roasted gram flour 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder1 tsp
Coriander powder1 tsp
Mustard oil 2-3 tsp
Banana leaves1-2 pcs
Butter1 tsp

Follow this method to make masala pomfret

Start with cleaning the fish. Once done, prepare the marination for the dish. Chop the garlic cloves finely to make a paste. After this, add salt and red chilli powder in the garlic paste. Then add roasted gram flour, turmeric powder and coriander powder. Finish the paste by adding a few drops of mustard oil.

Now, before coating the fish with the paste, grease it with mustard oil. It’s now time to wrap the fish in banana leaves. Wash the leaves and cut them in equal squares. Before wrapping the fish, heat the leaf a bit. This will protect the leaves from tearing apart.

After you have wrapped the fish with banana leaves, tie a thread around and put it in the refrigerator for one hour. It’s now time to cook the fish. There are two ways of doing this. Here, we have cooked the fish in the pan.

Heat the butter in a pan and put in the fish after unwrapping it and removing the banana leaves. Cook the fish for 3-4 minutes. You can also cook the fish in a steamer. Just put the wrapped wish in a steamer for 15-20 minutes and it will be ready!

Ok, so we were craving for something sweet but could not decide on what to eat. We finally opened the fridge and realised that we have all the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies. Yes, you know where we are going with this.

We made some really delicious and gooey chocolate chip cookies.

The taste of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth is something that words cannot do justice to. You have to have it to know what magical ride your tastebuds go through on devouring a decadent chocolate chip cookie.

So, without wasting any more time, let’s dive into the recipe.

Chocolate chip cookies – Recipe

Ingredients:

Brown sugar3/4 cup

Salt1/2 tsp
Butter (Melted)1/2 cup

All-purpose flour 1 1/2 cup
Baking soda1/2 tsp

Method:

In a bowl, mix the brown sugar with the white sugar, salt and melted butter. Give them a nice mix and then, add the egg. You will have to move the whisker thoroughly to mix everything evenly. Once done, add vanilla essence and mix again.

Using a sifter, add the all-purpose flour and baking soda in the bowl. Using a sifter helps mix the dry ingredients and also removes any unwanted clumps. Use a spatula to mix everything together. Do not mix too much because that will make the cookies hard.

Finally, when you have the right consistency of the dough, add chocolate chips. You can go crazy and add as many as you want. If you do not have chocolate chips, just add small chunks of any chocolate.

Now, leave the batter to chill. A minimum of half an hour of chilling is necessary. The more you leave the dough in the fridge, the better the cookies will be. For the most heavenly taste, leave them overnight.

While your dough is being chilled, preheat your over at 180 degrees Celsius. Put parchment paper on the baking tray and scoop some of that dough and put small balls of the dough on the tray.

Let the cookies bake for 10-15 minutes. After that, take them out of the oven and let them cool.

But because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is not a wise choice to get modaks from the market this year. Fret not, here we share with you an easy recipe for coconut modak that will double your enthusiasm for the festival.

Mawa/Khoya1 kg
Petha (sweet)250 gms
Coconut Powder250 gms
Cardamom powder1 tsp
Yellow food colouring3-4 drops

Follow this recipe

To make the modak, grate the mawa/khoya in a clean bowl. Then grate the petha and mix the two ingredients together. Now add, coconut powder or shredded coconut in the mix. Make sure that you keep some aside for decorating.

Now, add cardamon powder and food colouring, and mix well. You will have a soft dough. After this, take a small portion in your hand and give it the shape of a modak. You can also make round balls if you want.

Top the modak with the leftover coconut powder. This is the basic recipe and you can try many variations by adding dry fruits.

Garlic Bread

This one is garlic bread that will taste just like the Dominos one that we all love so much. This loaf is quite easy to make. All you need to do is mix the yeast in warm milk and sugar and let it rest. Then make a dough using salt, all-purpose flour, oregano and garlic. After the dough is rested for two hours, knead it again and fold the bread in the shape that you want. Apply the herbed butter inside the bread and on it. Let it bake for seven minutes. The result is a yummy garlic bread that you will finish in two minutes.

Pretzels

Have them in breakfast, lunch or dinner, they always cheer you. The bread, that looks like a heart, tastes divine when paired along with the mustard sauce. To make pretzels at home, you need to mix the yeast in warm water, sugar and salt and let it rest for 10 minutes. After that, you need to add all-purpose flour, knead dough and let it rest for an hour. Finally, cut the dough in six pieces and turn them in the shape of pretzels. Put these pretzels in boiling mixture of baking soda and water and finally keep them in the oven for 10 minutes.

To make focaccia at home, mix all-purpose flour with yeast, salt, sugar, yoghurt and water, and knead a dough. In a pan, add oil and sauté chopped onions, carrots and green beans. To this, add schezwan sauce, dark soy sauce, white vinegar, ajinomoto and seasonings as per your taste. Add rice and mix well. And, a new dish is ready.

Leftover Maggie always goes to waste. Who would eat the dry noodles the next day, right? You can now!

Add a spoonful of all-purpose flour and gram flour in the Maggie. Add vegetables and seasonings as per your choice and mix well to form a dough. Make small balls from it and shallow fry the balls. Maggie ke pakode are ready.

Chicken roll

If you have leftover chicken, you can make a no fuss, no muss roll using it. Just chop the chicken piece. Make an egg paratha, layer it with mint chutney, tomato ketchup or any sauce of your choice. Place the chopped chicken on the top and finish with some sliced onions. A drool-worthy chicken role awaits you.

Paneer bhurji sandwhich

This is the simplest dish you can make from leftover food. Not with just paneer bhurji, you can make this with literally any sabzi. Just take the leftover dish, add in mayonnaise or any other sauce of your choice. Spread the mix in bread slices and toast them. That’s all you need to do.

Mixed vegetables into baked vegetable

Once stored in the refrigerator, the veggies in the mixed vegetables lose their crispiness. Don’t make faces while eating the soggy veggies, make baked vegetable using them.

Start with making a white sauce. For this, sauté all-purpose flour in butter. After that, add hot milk to get a sauce consistency and top it with your favourite seasonings. Put in the vegetables and mix well. Now, put the veggies in a baking and top it with cheese. Bake the dish till the cheese gets golden brown.

Who doesn’t love bread? The heavenly taste of carbs that are fresh out of the oven is incomparable to anything else in this world. As most bakeries are not yet open and people are preferring to eat home cooked meals, we want to share with you a simple recipe for focaccia bread that you will fall in love with.

Without wasting anymore time, we will dive straight in.

How to make cherry tomato and basil focaccia bread?

Ingredients:

Maida (All-purpose flour)500 gm
Yeast30 gm
Salt1 tsp
Sugar1 tsp
Yoghurt2 tbsp
Vegetable Oil2 tbsp
WaterFor kneading
Cherry tomato10 pcs
BasilA few leaves

Method:

In a bowl, add maida along with yeast, sugar and salt. Mix them nicely. Once done with that, add yoghurt. Finally, add water to this mixture and knead a dough. Do not knead too much. Once the mixture takes shape of the dough, cover it with a little bit of oil. Cover the dough with a wet cloth and keep it aside for 30 minutes.

After that, knead the dough again to remove the air from it. Once done, cover the dough again with a little bit of oil and keep aside for another 20 minutes.

For the next step, preheat the oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees. Grease your baking tray and keep the dough in it for 10 minutes so that it takes the shape of the tray.

Now, this is when you become artistic. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and put them on the bread however you like it and do the same with the basil leaves. You can also add a lot of spices. Basically, add everything you want your focaccia to have. Cover with a little butter on top.

Bake for 30 minutes at 180 degrees Celcius and enjoy this delicious bread.

The latest trend that we came across has left us speechless. Burgers and Sandesh we still understand but naan shaped like a mask, takes tings to a whole new level. Not just that, the masknaan is being accompanied with malai kofta that look like coronavirus.

Now, you can easily make pretzels at home with our extremely simple recipe. Just imaging having a warm freshly baked one with your morning coffee.

There is nothing better than a freshly baked pretzel. That feeling of a warm and fresh pretzel dipped in mustard sauce melting in your mouth. We made you salivate no? But it is true, any form of bread, right out of the oven, especially a pretzel, tastes delicious.

Once you start, you can never just stop at one. We know you agree with us. But again, it is still quite risky ordering food from outside. So, guess what we made pretzels at home and they turned out to be great. So, we are going to share the recipe with you so that even you can enjoy freshly baked pretzels at home.

Pretzels – Recipe

Ingredients

Warm water1 1/2 cups
Sugar1 tbsp

Yeast1 tbsp
All-purpose flour3 cups

Method

First, we will start with making the dough. In a pan, add warm water, sugar and salt. Mix them nicely. Once everything is thoroughly mixed, add the yeast and let this mixture rest for 10 minutes. Once you see a little bit of froth on the surface of the mixture, it means the yeast is activated and we are ready to move ahead.

For the next step, add four and a half cup of all-purpose flour and olive oil to this and knead the dough. Remember your dough should be soft otherwise, the pretzels will not be soft. The dough should neither be too hard or too soft.

Once the dough is cooked, let it rest for one hour. After one hour, you will see that the dough has doubled in size. Take it out of the pan and divide it into 6-8 equal pieces. Roll each piece in a thin line and make the shape of a pretzel. Best part-you can go as crazy with the shape as you like, make a flower or an animal, whatever you wish for.

Preheat your oven at 230 degrees Celsius.

For the next step, in four cups of water, add the baking soda. Once it comes to a boil, put a pretzel in the mixture and after 10-15 seconds take it out. Repeat the process for all the pretzels.

Now, either put a parchment paper on your baking dish or lather it with oil because the pretzels will stick to the bottom. Put it in the oven for 10 mins and you will get freshly baked pretzels.

Enjoy with mustard sauce.

Chicken Wings recipe

Ingredients:

Method:

As the first step, thoroughly clean the chicken. Add the butter in the pan and once the butter melts, add the chicken. To the chicken, add salt and black pepper and mix them nicely. Cover the chicken with a lid and let it cook.

After every 5 minutes, remove the cover and mix the chicken again.

Once the chicken is 70 per cent cooked, remove the cover and let it cook on slow flame. Take the garlic cloves and churn them in a blender. Add the garlic puree in the chicken. After that, squeeze an entire lemon in the chicken.

Cover it again and let it cook on low flame for 15 minutes. After that, mix the chicken nicely once again and add garam masala. After another 5 minutes, remove the chicken from flame and enjoy your meal with a nice cold pint of beer or maybe eat it just like that. You will love this extremely simple recipe that is a hit in our family.

Take a look at the ingredients you’ll need to make dark chocolate brownie cake

Follow this method to make the chocolate brownie

Start with roughly chopping the dark chocolate cubes in a bowl. Put in butter and place the bowl in a microwave. Melt the two ingredients and keep them aside. You can also do this by using a double boiler. Now in a clean bowl, add brown and white sugar and put in a whole egg. Whisk the mix and put it the second egg. Keep whisking the mix till it gets smooth and frothy.

Once done, add the chocolate and butter mix and whisk again. Now, it’s time to add the dry ingredients. Put in all-purpose flour and coco powder after passing them through a sieve. After this, gently fold the mix to make a batter. This batter will be thicker than what you usually make for a cake.

Transfer the batter into a silicon mould or a greased tin mould. Bake the brownie cake in a pre-heated oven for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Keep checking if the brownie cake is cooked or not with the help of a knife. Once done, take out the cake out and let it cool. Now, you can either slice up the cake like brownies or just take a spoon and dig in.

Lauki ki kulfi easy recipe

Lauki ki kulfi! Making dessert using bottle gourd – RECIPE VIDEO

Have you ever thought of making a dessert using a vegetable? Here, we share with you our easy recipe for a delicious kulfi, which we have made using bottle gourd. Yes! It’s lauki ki kulfi.

The thing with experimenting is that you can try the craziest combinations and make a delicious dish. When you are in the kitchen, how often do you think of trying something new? For us, it’s a daily adventure. So recently, when we thought of making a dessert, we included one of the most healthy vegetables in it. 

We made a kulfi by using lauki or bottle gourd. Now, if you have a kid at home, you would know how difficult it is to feed them vegetables like this one. But, we have found a delicious way to give them all the nutrients. This way, the kids will get a tasty treat and would not know that they are eating bottle gourd. 

Not just this, you can also serve this yummy desert to your guests if you are hosting a small get together. Our recipe can easily serve 10 to 15 people. 

Here are the ingredients you would need for lauki ki kulfi 

Full cream milk3.5 litre 
Bottle gourd 1 kg 
Hari elachi (green cardamom)5 pcs
Kesar (saffron)A pinch
Sugar1 3/4 cups 
Chopped almonds10-15 pcs
Chopped cashews10-15 pcs
Chopped postachios10-15 pcs

Follow this method to make lauki ki kulfi at home 

Start with peeling and chopping the bottle gourd. Cut it into small pieces. Put the pieces into a mixer-grinder and grind them with milk to make a paste. You can use one litre milk to grind one kilo bottle gourd. 

Now, pour the remaining milk in a pressure cooker and add the bottle gourd mix in it. Following this, add hari elaichi and kesar in the cooker and close the lid. Make sure that you turn off the gas before the whistle. 

Once the steam is out, let the mix cook on low flame for 1-2 hours. After the mix reduces, add sugar and chopped dry fruits. Transfer the mix in small bowls and let it cool. 

After the mix cools down, transfer it into containers (for storage) and decorate it with chopped dry fruits. Put the containers in the freezer for 2-3 hours. Once the kulfi freezes, cut it into small pieces and enjoy it with your loved ones. You can also use a kulfi container and make stick kulfi just like us.

Follow this method to make the sticky sesame chicken

Start with marinating the chicken. In a clean bowl, put the chicken and add chopped ginger and garlic followed by lemon juice, ajwain, cornflour, salt and pepper. Mix all ingredients together and then, add curd and mix again. Let the chicken marinate for one hour minimum.

Line a baking tray with foil and put the chicken on it after dusting the breasts with cornflour. Bake the chicken in a preheated over for 20-25 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.

While the chicken gets ready, prepare the sauce. In a pan, heat some oil and put in chopped garlic. Then, add white vinegar, brown sugar and schezwan sauce and let it come to boil. Now, add tomato ketchup, salt and sesame seeds. Let the sauce boil.

Once the chicken is cooked, put it in the pan and coat it with the sauce. And, your simple evening snack is ready.

If you are looking for a dessert recipe that is quick and easy to make, you have come to the right place. This chocolate pudding recipe is all you need.

We were craving for something sweet and as always, we were in the mood for procrastination. So, in an attempt to find a common ground we thought of making chocolate pudding. Simple to prepare and can be easily made with all the ingredients already available in your kitchen.

We love it and the best part about this pudding is that the messier it looks, the more delicious it is. You can also call it the dessert of a procrastinator. So, without any further delay, let’s start with the recipe.

CHOCOLATE PUDDING RECIPE

Ingredients:

Milk3 cups
Chocolate powder2 tsp
Cornflour2 tsp
Sugar1 cup
Coffee2 tsp
Vanilla essence1 tsp
BiscuitsYour choice
Banana2 (thin sliced)

Method:

First, add two cups of milk to a pan and put it on low flame. Let the milk simmer. In a separate bowl, add two teaspoons of chocolate powder and a half cup of milk. Mix the two thoroughly. In another bowl, mix two teaspoons of cornflour with half a cup of milk. Once the milk starts to boil, add chocolate milk in the pan.

After two minutes, add cornflour and let the milk boil for another five minutes. Take it off the flame and let it come to room temperature. You can also keep the mix in the freezer for 15 minutes.

For the next part of the recipe, in a bowl, add two teaspoons of coffee powder, one teaspoon of vanilla essence and mix them nicely with water.

Now, we will plate the chocolate pudding. To make the first layer, dip the biscuits in the coffee mixture and cover the entire base of the bowl. Pour a generous amount of the chocolate mix on the first layer of biscuits.

For the next layer, we will start with thinly sliced bananas. You can go as crazy with the bananas as you want. Cover the bananas with another layer of coffee coated biscuits which will be followed by the chocolate mix. This entire step needs to be repeated once more.

Finally, keep the chocolate pudding in the refrigerator for two hours and voila, your simple dessert is ready.

Once the water boils, add half tsp haldi along with half tsp ginger and half tsp grounded cinnamon. Let it simmer for 10 minutes. Strain it in a cup. Add honey and lemon wedge in the final step.

In the water, add two tsp haldi, two tsp ginger, a little bit of finely chopped mint leaves, two pinches of black pepper powder and 3 orange slices. Let them simmer. Strain the tea and enjoy. To make the basic batter, you can add condensed milk in melted butter and add all-purpose flour and baking powder. Follow this method to make the cake:

Start with putting the butter, which is at room temperature, in a clean bowl. Whisk it for a minute and then put in condensed milk. Whisk the ingredients together until combined. Next up, add vanilla essence and mix again.

Now, add all-purpose flour after passing it through a sieve. Alternate it with cold milk and mix all the ingredients together to form a batter. Finally, add baking powder and mix again.

Once your batter is ready, pour it in a tin or silicon baking tray. Put the baking tray in a pre-heated oven for 20-25 minutes at 180 degree Celsius.

Before taking out the cake from the oven, check if it is fully cooked with the help of a knife. Once done, take the cake out of the oven and let it cool. After the cake cools down, slice it into pieces and enjoy it with a fresh cup of joe.

Follow this method to make the bhuna mutton at home

Start with pouring some oil in a cooker. Once the oil heats, add jeera, laung, both badi and choti elaichi, and daal cheeni. Now, add the chopped onions and let them sauté until they get brown. When you see the oil separating from the onions, add chopped tomatoes, green chillies, ginger and turmeric. Cook the mix for 10 minutes.

Now, add salt followed by the raw mutton pieces. Add curd and mix well. Now, put in red chilli powder, black pepper and ajwain. After putting the ghee, close the lid and wait for a whistle.

Once you open the cooker, you will see that the mutton has left water. Start cooking the dish on high flame. Add dhaniya powder, garam masala and amchoor powder. Once the water dries, your dish will be ready. But cook it for 10 more minutes to get that bhuna flavour.

So without any further delay, let’s dive right into the recipe.

Mushroom soup recipe

Ingredients:

Method:

For the first step, we will add butter in a non-stick pan. Immediately after the butter, we will add olive oil. Remember, this has to be done on low flame. We add the olive oil so that the butter does not burn.

Once the oil heats up a little, add onions and garlic. Once the onions turn translucent, that is when we add the mushrooms. Now the mushrooms, once cooked, get smaller in size and leave some water, so don’t be alarmed when that happens.

Once you think the mushrooms are cooked, add flour and saute for 10 minutes. When you feel that you can start smelling the flour, add water. Increase the flame and let it boil. Cover the pan and let it simmer for another 10 minutes.

For the next step, take some of the mushroom chunks out in a separate bowl. Using a hand blender or a regular blender, churn everything together and you will get a creamy mushroom soup. Add the mushrooms back into the pan. We did this so that you get chunks of mushroom while drinking the soup. You can avoid this step if you want to.

Finally, add salt and pepper according to your taste. If you want the soup to be more creamy, you can add half water and half milk to the soup instead of adding just water.

Is there ever a bad time to have a drink, we say not. We needed something spiked to get rid of our mid-week blue, so, we made some mojito.

After two minutes, add two tablespoons of water and stir till the sugar dissolves. Once the sugar is mixed and you cannot see the particles anymore, fill the glass with ice. Now if you want to have a non-alcoholic mojito, you can add water, carbonated water or soda here.

If we ask you what is the one thing that you really miss eating, what would it be? For us, it is the yummy garlic bread that Dominos gives. That freshly baked bread that has oodles of garlic and is full of buttery goodness, we are missing that.

We made you salivate, didn’t we? But, you know what? It is not that difficult to make that bread at home. Yup, that is correct. And, the best part, you can experiment with the fillings as much as you want at home. So, we thought of sharing the recipe with you.

Dominos garlic bread at home

Ingredients:

Method:

In a bowl, add yeast, warm milk and sugar. Mix it nicely and let it rest for 10 minutes. The yeast will activate in these 10 minutes, which is essential for the bread.

After that, add salt and mix well. To this mixture, add three finely chopped garlic cloves along with one teaspoon of oregano and one teaspoon of butter. For the next step, add the all-purpose flour and knead the dough.

Add a few drops of olive oil and cover the dough with it. Finally, keep the dough aside for two hours. While the dough is resting, the yeast will do its magic.

During this time, we will prepare the delicious mixture that will give the actual taste to the garlic bread.

Melt two tablespoons go butter. In the butter, add three finely chopped garlic cloves, one teaspoon of oregano along with one teaspoon of peri peri. Mix it well.

Now, we come back to the dough. Due to the activated yeast, the dough will double up in size within two hours. Once that happens, take that dough out and knead it again. Once the dough has the bouncy texture, with the help of a rolling pin, spread the dough in a circle. Do not make it too thin.

With the help of a brush, spread the liquid butter mixture all over the dough. Fold it in half as shown in the video and with the help of your fingers close the sides. Put the dough on a baking tray that has been layered with butter.

Cover the top of the dough with the remaining butter mixture and sprinkle some more oregano and chilli flakes. Use a knife to make cuts on the dough and put it in a preheated oven for 7 minutes. You will have the best freshly baked garlic bread.

How to make brownies

Ingredients:

Method:

On a double boiler, first, melt dark chocolate with one tablespoon of butter. This time, we used the 99 per cent dark chocolate by Amul. Once they both melt and mix properly, remove the bowl from the heat and let it come to room temperature.

Till that is happening, in another bowl, mix white and brown sugar. In this mixture, add the eggs one-by-one and mix thoroughly after each egg is added. Once that is done, add salt and vanilla essence. Mix nicely.

For the next step, add the melted chocolate to the bowl and mix everything together. To this add the all-purpose flour and chocolate powder through a sift. Fold all the ingredients nicely. Do not use a whisker for this process. Mix the batter for two more minutes.

Grease a glass square container with butter and pour the batter in it. Give it two taps to let everything settle and finally, put the batter in the microwave for four minutes.

Your gooey brownies are ready. You can eat them right away, but a better way to enjoy these is by letting the brownies cool for 10 minutes and then cut the pieces with a knife and enjoy with ice cream.

First, in a non-stick pan, add olive oil. While the oil is still cold add finely chopped garlic cloves to it and on low flame, stir it. You have to cook the garlic on low flame through the entire process.

After two minutes, add the chilli flakes and continue stirring slowly. Let it cook. Once the garlic is cooked (not burnt) switch off the flame. You will reach this stage after almost 10 minutes of cooking.

By this time, your spaghetti will be ready. Strain the spaghetti and add it in the olive oil, garlic and chilli flakes mixture. Mix well and sprinkle oregano on top. We are adding oregano to add a little extra flavour. You can add a bit of parmesan on top of the dish as well.

Find out the ingredients you will need to make the cheesecake

Digestive biscuits 1 pkt
Butter50 gms
Cream cheese 180 gms
Sour cream 200 gms
Sugar1 cup
Fresh cream 50 gms
Egg2 pcs
Cornflour 3 tbsp
Vanilla essence 4-5 drops
Lemon juice1 tsp

Read on the method

Start with making the base for the cheesecake. Take digestive biscuits and crush them either in a blender or by using your hands. Once crushed, add melted butter in the biscuits and mix well. Now, take a baking tray and line the base with a parchment paper.

Put the biscuit crumbs in the tray and set it with the help of a spoon. Now, take a piece of butter and rub it on the sides of the baking tray and stick parchment paper on it. Cover the exterior of the baking tray with a tin foil. Keep the tray aside.

Next up, take a clean bowl and put cream cheese and sugar in it. Start whisking till the two ingredients are combined. Now, add sour cream in the mix and after stirring for a while, add fresh cream. Keep tasting the mix in between to see if it is well balanced or not.

Once the ingredients are combined, add the eggs and whisk again. Now, add cornflour, vanilla essence and lemon juice in the mix. Your batter for the cheesecake is ready.

Know how to bake the cheesecake

Take the baking tray and pour the batter in it. Heat the oven at 180 degree Celsius and put the baking tray on an oven tray and fill it with hot water. Let the cheesecake bake for 30 minutes.

Once the timer goes off, continue baking the cheesecake at 150 degree Celsius for 30 more minutes. After that, let the cheesecake be in the oven for one hour.

Now, take the cheesecake out of the oven and let it cool. Following this put the cake in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours.

Post this, take out the cheesecake from the mould and put in the refrigerator again for 6-7 hours. After what will feel like an eternity, you will finally get to eat the yummy cheesecake.

Malaika’s nuskha is an early morning drink that needs to be prepared the night before. And it includes the ingredients that are already available in your kitchen.

Malaika says to add one tablespoon of fenugreek (methi) seeds and the same amount of cumin (jeera) seeds in a glass of water and soak them overnight. The next morning, you have to pass that water through a sieve and sip on it first thing in the morning.

She calls these the magic seeds that are sitting right in your kitchen. According to the actress, these seeds have amazing health benefits and they flush out harmful toxins from the body. Not only that, it helps in improving the bowel movement and also helps fight against many digestive problems.

As a pro tip, Malaika also said that methi seeds are a great remedy for diabetics.

Today, we are sharing a special recipe for all those who love drums of heaven. Now, you can eat as many chicken lollipops as you want because these are baked and not fried.

Check out what all you’ll need for the marination of drums of heaven

Chicken winglets500 gms
Dark soy sauce1 tsp
White vinegar 1.5 tsp
Chilli powder1 tsp
Ginger (chopped)1 tsp
Garlic (chopped)1 tsp
Black pepperAs per taste
SaltAs per taste
Cornflour 1/4 cup
Egg1 pcs
All-purpose flour2 tbsp

Method for the marination:

Take the chicken winglets whose meat has been cut from the bone to look like a lollipop. Put them in a bowl and add salt, pepper and red chilli powder. Mix them well. Now, add chopped ginger and garlic along with some dark soy sauce and white vinegar. Using your hand, mix all the ingredients together and let the chicken rest for 30 minutes.

Once the marination is done, add cornflour and all-purpose flour in the bowl along with an egg. If you wish, you can add a pinch of red chilli powder and salt. Coat all the winglets evenly.

Following this, line a baking tray with foil and place the winglets on it. Bake the chicken for 15-20 minutes at 180 degree Celsius till golden brown.

Know the ingredients you’ll need to make the sauce:

Oil 1 tbsp
Ginger (chopped)1 tsp
Garlic (chopped)1 tsp
Onions (chopped)1 pcs
White vinegar1 tbsp
Brown sugar1 tsp
Dark soy sauce2 tsp
Schezwan sauceAs per taste
Tomato ketchup1 tbsp

Method to make the gravy for Drums of heaven:

To make the gravy, pour the oil in a pan. To this, add chopped ginger and garlic, and sauté them for a minute. Now, add the chopped onions and let them cook. After this, add schezwan sauce, followed by dark soy and tomato ketchup.

Now, it’s time to add white vinegar and brown sugar. Let the sauce cook for a minute on high flame. If you feel that the sauce is too thick, then you can add some water and let it boil.

Once the chicken lollipops are baked, take them out of the oven and toss them in the sauce. Enjoy them hot with your favourite drink.

It can be eaten anytime, be it for dinner, lunch or breakfast, chicken white sauce pasta is always a good idea. So, without any further delay, let us tell you how to make it.

Let’s make white sauce pasta

Ingredients:

Method:

In a pan, pour water. Once the water is warm, add a few drops of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Finally, add the pasta and let it slowly come to a boil.

In a non-stick pan, add some olive oil and cook chicken seekh in it. Once the seekh is cooked, take it out. In the same oil, we will cook pasta. We are doing so as it gives the pasta a much better taste.

Add a little more oil and let it heat. Put garlic and chillies in it. For the next step, add all-purpose flour in the pan and let it cook a little. Once the colour of the all-purpose flour starts changing and you are able to smell the flour, add milk.

For this step, add the milk slowly while mixing it with the all-purpose flour. Add more or less milk according to the consistency of the sauce you want.

Keep stirring and let the white sauce come to a boil. Check your pasta and if it is almost cooked, drain the water.

Put the pasta in the boiling white sauce and add the seekh kebab. For the last step, add salt and back pepper according to taste. Finally, add oregano and peri peri in the pan and your white sauce pasta is ready,

Enjoy it with fresh garlic bread.

Follow this method to make the tasty treat

Start with mixing white and brown sugar in a bowl. To this, add salt followed by melted butter. Whisk all the ingredients till combined. Now break an egg and add it into the bowl. After this, add vanilla essence and mix again.

Now, add the all-purpose flour after passing it though a sieve along with baking powder. Combine all the ingredients to make a dough by folding them together.

Once you have the basic dough ready, take a brick of dark chocolate and chop up small pieces. Add the chocolate pieces to the dough and mix again. Cover the bowl with a cling wrap and put the dough in the refrigerator for an hour or two.

After it is chilled, make small scoops of the dough and put them on a baking tray. Do not forget to line the tray with parchment paper. Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes at 180 degree Celsius.

Start with boiling water in a pan and add pasta in it. While the pasta cooks, in another pan, pour olive oil. Once the oil heats, add chopped onions and let them sauté. After this, add chopped tomatoes and garlic. Cook the ingredients for two minutes.

Following this, add tomato ketchup, schezwan sauce and salt along with some pasta water, and bring them to a boil. Now, add cheese spread or any cheese of your preference along with fresh cream. Stir well and your gravy is ready.

Drain the pasta and add it into the gravy. Mix them well. Now, add chopped capsicum and heat the pasta on low flame. Finish off the dish by putting oregano and chilli flakes.

For days like these, if there is one thing that is quick to make and is extremely healthy, it is soup. Soup is a complete meal. While making soup you can go as basic or gourmet as you want. The best part about preparing a bowl of soup is that you just need to look into your fridge and whatever ingredients are available, you can make a soup out of them. No fancy prerequisites are required.

So, we, too, were tired and drained after a long day at work and the thought of cooking a meal gave us jitters. So, we made broccoli soup and it was a huge success. Therefore, we thought we will share the recipe with you.

Healthy broccoli soup

Ingredients:

Method

In a pressure cooker, add butter and let it melt. Make sure that the flame is on low so that you don’t burn the butter. To this, add garlic cloves and chopped chillies, and sauté them for a minute.

For the next step, add onions and saute till they turn golden brown. Once you reach that stage, add broccoli and let it simmer on low flame for two minutes. Keeps moving the contents in the pressure cooker.

Once the broccoli is semi-cooked, add water and close the pressure cooker. After two whistles, open the cooker and using a hand blender to mash all the vegetables. Keep the flame off during this time. If you don’t have a hand blender, use a regular blender but make sure that you churn the hot soup in small portions otherwise it will come out of the blender.

Once all the vegetables are smushed and you get the consistency of soup, add salt and black pepper, according to taste. You can also add peri peri powder for that extra kick.

This soup tastes best if your toast some garlic bread with it.

Ingredients required to make honey chilli potato

Potato 3-4 pcs
Oil As per requirement

Method

Let’s start with prepping the potatoes. Take medium to large size potatoes and peel them after washing nicely. Cut them making equal fingers and put them in a pan to boil. Add a pinch of salt in the water and stir well.

Once boiled, strain the water and spread the potato chips on a baking tray. Put a few drops of oil over the potatoes and place them in the oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celcius.

While the potatoes are getting cooked, prepare the sauce. For the sauce, in a heated pan, add oil. Then put chopped onions and let them sauté for a minute. To this add dried red chillies and salt.

Next up, add tomato ketchup and schezwan sauce. You can add a spoonful of water if you think the sauce is too thick. Let it come to a boil and then add honey.

After the potatoes are ready, toss them in the sauce and top the dish with toasted white sesame seeds while serving.

Air-fried chicken momos at home

Homemade air-fried chicken momos – easy recipe

If you have been missing your momos wale bhaiya more than your family, then it is time to make fried chicken momos at home with our easy recipe. But they are not actually fried.

Well, you guys really loved the steamed vegetarian momos recipe. So, we figured, you are also missing the street food as much as we are. But this is not really the time, that we can go out and eat from street vendors. 

The safest and healthiest option is to cook at home, where you know who is cooking and what all is actually going in your dish. So, coming back to the momos, now we thought, we should share the recipe for air fried chicken momos as well.

We prepared these for the first time, they did not look that good but surely tasted divine.

Air-Fried chicken momos

Ingredients:

All-purpose flour2 cups
Ginger-garlic paste1 tsp
Green chillies (chopped)2
Boneless chicken250 gm
Spring onion (Finely chopped)4
Soya sauce1 tsp
SaltAccording to taste

Method:

Let’s start with making the dough. For that, in all-purpose flour, mix one tsp of salt and one tbsp of oil. Mix all the ingredients nicely.

When mixed, start adding water slowly and make a dough. The consistency of the dough should not be too soft or too hard. Once you get to that consistency, keep the dough aside and let it rest for 20 – 30 minutes.

Not let’s come to the filling.

For this put the boneless chicken in the grinder and give it a nice whirl. Once the chicken is smooth, add one tsp of olive oil, one tsp salt and pepper, half a teaspoon of roasted ginger garlic paste and mix.

Once that is done, add the chopped chillies, spring onion and soya sauce to it. You filling is prepared. Unlike the vegetarian momos, we are not going to cook the chicken filling. Instead, the chicken gets cooked while it is being air fried or steamed.

Now, come back to dough and knead it again for a minute. Take small balls of the dough and with the help of a rolling pin make a very thin round circles.

Put the filling on the circle. Slightly wet the sides of the circle with your fingers. Take the outer part of the circle and start joining the two ends in a criss-cross manner as shown in the video. Finally, put them in the air fryer and after 10 minutes, your momos will be ready.

You can deep fry them as well, but we were inclined towards a little healthier version, so we opted for the air fryer.

Craving for a pizza? So were we, and guess what happened? Yup, we made pizza, many, in fact and finally we feel fine. There are so many types of pizzas – thin crust, thick crust, deep dish, you can go on and on.

It is not just about the base, the toppings are also uncountable too. You can go as crazy as you want and make a farm house or a meat load or just stick with the simple yet soul fulfilling margherita aka cheese pizza. And let us tell you, there is nothing basic about the one we are making.

Ok, so we thought that we would share the basics of making one with you.

Let’s make pizza

Method:

Making a pizza is incredible easy, given you have the right ingredients. People do go to the lengths of making the base themselves, but we were waiting to devour one for so long that we did not have the patience to make the dough ourselves.

For the first step, cut the vegetables that you have in small sizes. Add a little bit of salt and pepper to them, and your toppings are ready. If you wish to add mushrooms, you will have to saute them in butter for 5 minutes before putting them on the pizza.

Coming to the base, first apply a nice layer of the pizza sauce on the base. Once that is done, put the toppings. Don’t be cheap with the toppings, your pizza should be overflowing with the them.

Next comes the holy grail, the cheese. Too much cheese, said no one ever. Go crazy and cover it with mozzarella cheese.

Finally, put your this dish in the oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees. After 10 minutes, you have you ghar ka pizza ready. Season it with oregano and chilli flakes, and you are good to go.

It is super easy to make, doesn’t consume a lot of time and always turns out to be delicious.

Here’s the ingredients you’ll need to make khaman dhokla

MTR ready mix khaman dhokla(180 gms)
Oil1 tbsp
Mustard seeds (sarso)1 tsp
Asafoetida (hing)1/4 tsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Curry leaves (kadi patta)5-10 leaves
Green chilli3-4 pcs
Coriander (dhaniya)For topping

Know the method to make the dish below

In a bowl, put the MTR mix powder. To this, add water and make a batter by mixing well. Once done, pour the batter into a greased tray and put it in a steamer for 5-10 minutes.

During this time, make the topping that will give the dish it’s real taste. For this, take a small pan (tadka pan) and pour oil in it. Then add hing and sarso, and let them cook for a minute. Following this add sugar, green chillies and kadi patta along with some water and let the mix come to a boil.

Now, once the dhokla is cooked, take it out of the steamer and let it cool down for a minute. Take the topping mix and pour it over the dhokla. Top the dish with fresh coriander leaves. The complete process will take you hardly 10-15 minutes.

You can either serve the khaman dhokla in the dish you cooked it or can transfer it in a serving tray.

Vegetarian momos recipe

Ingredients:

Method:

The first step that we need to do in order to make vegetarian momos is to make the dough. For that, in all-purpose flour, mix one tsp of salt and one tbsp of oil. Mix all the ingredients nicely.

When mixed, start adding water slowly and make a dough. The consistency of the dough should not be too soft or too hard. Once you get to that consistency, let the dough rest for 20 – 30 minutes.

Filling:

Now, let’s talk about the filling. We were craving for some paneer momos, so that is what we went for. You can make whatever filling you want.

In a pan, we added some oil. To that, chopped green chillies and roasted ginger-garlic paste was added. Saute them for a minute and then add onions, spring onions and carrots. Saute for a minute and make sure that the vegetables are not cooked entirely because the steam will also cook them.

For the next step, add paneer and mix everything nicely. Switch off the flame and let it cool. Add one tsp soya sauce, salt and black pepper (according to taste) once the filling is at room temperature, otherwise, the paneer will leave the water and you won’t be able to use the filling.

Now, come back to dough and knead it again for a minute. Take small balls of the dough and with the help of a rolling pin make a very thin round circles.

Put the filling on the circle. Take the outer part of the circle and start joining the two ends in a criss-cross manner as shown in the video. Finally, put them in a steamer and after 10 minutes, your momos will be ready.

If you want to eat fried momos, you can straight away deep fry these instead of putting in the steamer or just put it in the air fryer for 7 minutes.

You can enjoy them with schezwan sauce.

Know the method to make this yummy Indian dish

Start with pouring the oil in a pan and let it heat. To this, add jeera, laung and badi elaichi. Now, add a pinch of dalchini. Here, you can also use cinnamon stick but we prefer using the powder instead.

Following this, add chopped onions and green chilli. Let it cook till the onions turn golden brown. Once done, add the ginger-garlic paste and saute it for a minute. Next up, add tomato pure and haldi powder.

Cook it for about two minutes before adding sliced mushrooms. To this, add fresh cream and salt as per taste. You can also add a bit of red chilli if you wish to make the dish extra spicy. We haven’t used any in our dish.

Finally, add sliced onions and cover the pan with a lid, and let it cook on low flame for 15 minutes. Serve it in a handi either with naan bread or roti.

Here’s, how you can make the super simple dessert at home

Take a sealed tin of condensed milk and put it in a pressure cooker. Make sure that you submerge the tin completely in water. Turn the flame on and let it whistle 2-3 times. Once the steam is out, take the tin and put it in an ice bath. This is probably the simplest way of making dulce de leche.

Following this, take a pack of digestive biscuits and crush them. You can either do this by putting the biscuits in a grinder or can do it with your hands. Once crumbled, add melted butter and mix well. This will make for the base of your pie.

Take the biscuit mix and put it on a greased tin baking tray. Put the tray in the oven for 5-10 minutes, depending on how brown you want the base to be, at 180 degrees.

Once the base is ready, open the condensed milk tin and pour the toffee on the top of the biscuit crumb. Put the baking tray in the refrigerator and let it set.

Now, take a break for some tips! If you don’t want to bake the base of your pie, you can simply put the biscuit mix in the baking tray and put it in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.

And for the second tip, if the condensed milk doesn’t turn into toffee in the pressure cooker and you have opened the tin, then you can just pour the liquid in a non-stick pan and cook it on low flame.

Coming back to the banoffee pie…

Take the bananas and slice them evenly. Decorate the pieces on the top of toffee and keep it aside. Following this, take fresh cream and start whisking it. After what will feel life a lifetime of whisking, you will get whipped cream.

Spread the whipped cream on the top of the bananas evenly. For the final step, take a piece of dark chocolate and grate it. Use the grated chocolate to top the pie.

How to make chicken lollipops

Ingredients:

Method:

Marinate the chicken with egg, salt, red chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste, soy sauce, vinegar and mix nicely. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.

Once the marination is done, add cornflour to the chicken and mix it well. Make sure the cornflour coats all the chicken pieces. This step gives the chicken lollipop a nice crunch.

Heat oil in a deep pan. Once heated, put the leg pieces one-by-one and deep fry. Cook each piece for 5 minutes till it turns golden brown and the chicken is properly cooked. Enjoy your yummy chicken lollipops.

Today, we are going to share with you an easy recipe for besan ki sabzi. Not a lot of people know about it, but this secret gem will soon become your favourite thing to cook.

India, as a country, has an extremely vast food spectrum. People from different areas can make various dishes from the exact same ingredients and they never taste the same. Most of us have eaten a lot of dishes made out of besan aka gram flour, but none like the one we are about to share.

Today, we are going to share the recipe for a special dish made with besan. It is called Dhoka or besan ki sabzi. Let’s first talk about the ingredients that you will require for the dish.

Process of making besan ki sabzi

Ingredients:

Water400 ml
Ginger-garlic paste4 tbsp
Chopped onions2 pcs
Tomato puree 4 tbsp
Mustard oil100 ml

Dhaniya powder2 tbsp

Method:

For the first step, in a pan, add besan and mix one and a half spoon of ginger-garlic paste. To this, add salt and pepper according to taste and one tsp each of haldi, garam masala and red chilli powder and mix them well. Add water to this mixture and bring it to a thin consistency.

In a non-stick pan, add a tsp of ghee and cover the surface of the pan with it. For the next step, pour the besan liquid into the pan and start stirring on low flame.

The liquid will start taking the shape of a dough, that is good. Keep stirring until the entire mixture becomes a dough.

For the next step, cover a flat plate with ghee and put the dough on the thali. Flatten it, keep aside and let it cool. While the dough cools down, in a separate pan, add mustard oil and let it heat.

Add chopped onions to the oil. Once they turn brown, add two tbsp ginger-garlic paste along with tomato puree and saute for two minutes. To this add salt, pepper, garam masala, haldi, dhanya powder and red chilli powder and let them cook.

Cut the dough into squares and finally, put them in the pan. Mix well, making sure that each piece is coated nicely. Cook for two minutes and voila, your easy-peasy besan ki sabzi is ready.

Quite often we are unable to finish the portion of chilly chicken/paneer we make after putting in a lot of effort. But when it comes to eating the same dish again, we end up making faces. So, next time when you have leftover chilly chicken/paneer, chop the pieces and use it as a pizza topping. You can also add mayonnaise or any other sauce of your choice and make a roll out of it.

Try this extremely simple recipe for saffron kheer. You don’t require a lot of ingredients and the result is always delicious.

Kheer is one of the trickiest desserts to make. Though the ingredient list is really small, it is the cooking time and way of cooking that is the game changer. The kheer is just a mere mixture of rice, milk, water and sugar, but we can always add a little extra something to give it that kick.

In this recipe, we added saffron to make this already delicious dessert divine. We know, we said it is a little tricky to cook, but we are here to break down the recipe for you. Enjoy this extremely yummy dessert and make a yummy treat for your family as well.  

Recipe for kheer

Ingredients:

IngredientsQuantity
Rice1 cup
Water1 cup
Milk2 litres
Saffron2 pinch
Sugar2 cups
Dry fruitsOptional

Method:

For the first step, soak one cup of rice in water for 20 minutes. Once that is done, put the rice along with one cup of water in a cooker and give it a whistle.

Remove the rice from flame and let it come to room temperature. This is where the main work starts. Once the rice cool down, add two litres of milk in the cooker and simmer it on low flame.

Keep stirring the rice and the milk on low flame till it boils. Once you reach at that point, add two pinch of saffron in the cooker and continue stirring while cooking the kheer on low flame.

You have to continuously slow cook the kheer on low flame for at least 45 minutes. Don’t forget to stir it.

Finally, add two bowls of sugar and continue stirring on low flame for another 30 minutes. This is where you can add dry fruits to the kheer if you want. Chopped almonds and cashews taste divine.

Next, add schezwan sauce, tomato ketchup along with some pasta water. Bring the gravy to a boil. Then add cheese spread or any cheese of your choice along with some fresh cream. Finish the sauce by adding salt, oregano and chilli flakes. Drain the pasta and mix it with the sauce.
