Eat almonds daily

Reasons almonds should be a part of your daily routine

From being great for skin to helping you have a happy heart, almonds have a lot of great qualities and they should be a part of your daily routine.

Since time immemorial, we have been listening that almonds are great for health. Every day, we should have some dry fruits. Having those either directly or soaking them in water for some time and removing the outer layer and then eating almonds is great.

We use almonds in our kitchen a lot. From adding them in kheer to making badam ka halwa or drinking badam flavoured milk or simply having almond milk, almonds are a big part of our lives and rightly so. Today, we are going to give you three science-backed reasons that prove they should be a part of our life.

Let’s first talk about the nutritional value of them. They give you fibre, protein, fat, vitamin E, manganese, magnesium and they also have some amount of copper and vitamin B2.

Almonds should be a part of your life

  1. Can give you great skin.

Almonds are a very good source of vitamin E. Vitamin E belongs to the family of fat-soluble antioxidants which helps protect the cell from oxidative damage. Meaning intake of these is great if you want healthy and supple skin.

The vitamin E in almonds can also protect you from heart diseases. A lot of studies have proved that.

2. Almonds can also help control the blood sugar level

Almonds have a lesser amount of carbs but a high amount of healthy fats and fibre. That is exactly why they are perfect for people who have diabetes. The magnesium that is present in almonds is one of the key factors in controlling the blood sugar levels.

3. They can help you lower cholesterol level

A high amount of bad cholesterol aka LDL lipoproteins in the blood can result in heart diseases. Some studies have proved that almonds can lower the LDL levels, saving your heart.

Apart from these reasons, they also taste delicious.

Trip to keep in mind while heading to the mountains

Things to keep in mind while planning a mountain vacation

Planning to head to the mountains for a vacation? Here, we share with you five travel tips that will come in handy.

We recently shared a few important travel tips for a beach-cation with you, but it got us thinking about the people who love the hills more. One can never really get out of the beach or mountains debate.

So, thinking about our buddies, who can’t wait to go on their next mountain vacation, we decided to share five travel hacks that will prove useful for them. If you, too, are a mountain person, then start taking notes without further delay.

Always check for the weather

If you love the hills but can’t stand the cold waves, then you should always check the weather before planning the trip. This is also important for the people who wish to enjoy the extreme cold or the snow. The season that you pick for your vacation makes a lot of difference.

Don’t save up on the hotel too much

While getting deals on a hotel is good, but you should not compromise on a good hotel just to save a few bucks. You may not know the value of internal room heating now, but once you end your day after going around the town in the freezing weather, you would know the importance of a good hotel.

One overcoat is enough

We often carry multiple jackets and overcoats on our vacation. But you really just need one. You can pick a jacket or an overcoat that goes with all your outfits. This way you will save yourself from the cold and won’t have a heavy luggage.

Pack right

The number of clothes that you carry depends on how cold the weather is going to be on the mountains. But instead of taking along heavy cardigans, it is always advised to carry light and thin sweaters. You can always layer the clothes if you feel too cold. This way, you will have more space in your suitcase and will not have to wear the same sweater everyday.

Food bag is a must

Mountains are unpredictable. You never know when the weather will go bad and you might get stuck. So, it is always advised to carry a food bag with you. You can just carry a few packets of everyone’s favourite Maggie and a kettle.

NYX powder puff lippie - review

NYX Powder Puff Lippie – Prank Call – PRODUCT REVIEW

Having a matte lipstick that is long-lasting and not harsh on the lips is every girls dream and NYX made that dream come true with their Powder Puff Lippie.

Lipsticks that are matte but are not harsh on the lips are a god sent. Having a matte lipstick in your kit is a must these days. They are long-lasting, look great and a good lipstick can just increase the oomph of your entire outfit.

Today, we will be reviewing one of the latest edition in our kit, the NYX Professional Makeup Powder Puff Lippie Cream. We got the colour Prank Call and absolutely love it. So without any more delay, let us tell you what the hype is about.

NYX Powder Puff Lippie

Let’s first start with the difference between the lippi and other lipsticks. It is the applicator. The NYX lippie comes in a tube with a cushion applicator. Now there are pros and cons to this applicator. Con – application of the liquid lipstick is not so precise because of the shape, but you can work with it. Pro – It smoothes everything out and helps the lipstick give that powder texture.

Talking about the formula, the liquid lipstick is a mousse that gives a powdery look once it dries on your lips. But, the best part is that it only looks powdery, meaning it is still creamy on the lips. It is hydrating and doesn’t chap your lips as other matte lipsticks do.

The lipstick is extremely lightweight and non-transferrable. To be honest, it is a great deal in Rs 650. The extremely pocket-friendly lip shade. The colours are all stunning. There is something for everyone. Prank Call is a great deep red colour.

This lipstick is a must-have in every collection.

Bali to open for tourists next year

You might have to shift Bali vacation plans to next year

The government of Bali says that they might not open the gates for foreign tourists at all this year. This is happening because of the spike in coronavirus cases in Indonesia.

The novel coronavirus outbreak has been putting a damper on our travel plans for quite some time now. And, it doesn’t look like things will be getting better anytime soon. Why are we saying that?

Well, because Bali was earlier planning to open its gates for foreign visitors on September 11, but that is not the case anymore. As Indonesia, is unable to control the novel coronavirus cases, Bali will not be allowing any foreign visitors at least till the end of the year.

No dates have been specified as of yet.

Pexels: Timur Kozmenko

New travel rules for Bali

Because Bali’s economy is dependent on tourism a lot, the initial plan was to welcome foreign guests in three phases. But in a recent interview to The Jakarta Post, Erick Thohir, chairman of Indonesia’s National Economic and COVID-19 Recovery Committee said that they are still scanning the situation.

He said, “We really need foreign tourists, but we don’t want to risk having new clusters. Reopening to foreign tourists is under evaluation. Vaccines may only be available next year.” While the chances of Indonesia welcoming foreign tourists this year are slim, the government is gearing up to boost the domestic travel.

There is also a possibility that you might be able to work from home soon while sitting in Bali. They are planning to make some regulations and rules and work things out like Barbados and Bermuda.

The entire process is still in the planning stage. We won’t say no to working from Bali.

Plum green tea toner

The miracle water! Plum green tea toner review

A toner is one skincare item that you cannot afford to leave out of your beauty regime. Today, we share with you our review of the green tea alcohol-free toner by Plum.

We follow a strict skincare routine, eat balanced diet and invest in expensive products to get younger looking skin and kick away the signs of ageing. And one product that has become a must-have in everyone’s regime is the toner.

A toner is a lotion or a wash aiming to cleanse the skin and shrink the appearance of pores. It also moisturises the skin and leaves it refreshed. Usually toner is applied after the cleansing steps and before putting on a moisturiser.

For those who have sensitive skin, they always look for products that have no chemicals or other nasty things. So, for them, we are reviewing the green-tea alcohol-free toner by Plum.

Plum green tea toner

Plum Green Tea Toner Review

The biggest advantage of this product is that it is alcohol-free. It does not cause any irritation on the skin. It gets absorbed quickly, leaving the skin refreshed. To buy this toner, you’ll have to shell out Rs 390 for a 200 ml bottle. It is pretty affordable and one bottle lasts a long time.

The toner has water consistency, so you can put a few drops on a cotton pad and then apply it or you can put it by taking the product on your palm. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and makes a good pair with any face cream.

The toner is rich in green tea extracts and has glycolic acid, which helps remove the dead skin. It does not leave the skin dry unlike alcohol-based toners.

To sum it up, this product is a must-try for those who are planning to purchase a toner for the first time. It is affordable, alcohol-free and feels good on the skin.

Ways of eating cookies

Different ways to eat cookies – make your dessert game stronger

Take your dessert game up a notch by applying these variations to the plain old chocolate chip cookies.

Well, if you are wondering what the headline means, let us tell you that today, we are going to talk to you about the various different things that you can do to your cookies before eating them. The plain old gooey chocolate chip ones taste divine but you can take your dessert game up a notch with these variations.

Dunk cookies in milk

It is one of the most common ways. Dunk the gooey goodness in warm milk and you are set to go. So many Christmas movies also show kids leaving out cookies and milk for Santa. Freshly baked ones and warm milk are a match made in heaven.

Make ice cream sandwiches

To be honest, this one is our favourite. Freshly baked cookies that are still a little bit warm are the best for this. Put a nice layer of ice cream between the freshly baked cookies and relish. This version will take you down the memory lane and you will fall in love with it. You can learn how to make ice cream with our recipe.

Marshmallos, freshly baked cookies and chocolates, there is nothing that we do not like out of this lot. But can you imagine how great it would be if we put all three together. Two warm gooey cookies covered with nutella and joined with a layer of roasted marshmallow. It tastes as delicious as it sounds if not more. We highly recommend it.

Nutella bites

Yes, exactly what it sounds like. Take a warm cookie, apply as much Nutella as you want and add seasonal fruits on top of it. We added mangoes and bananas and they were like little bites of heaven. It is a must try.

Spain and Slovakia

Spain and Slovakia to give gratis visa to Indians. What is it?

If you were travelling to Spain and Slovakia and the plan got cancelled because of the novel coronavirus, there is some good news for you. Read on.

The novel coronavirus outbreak did put a damper on everyone’s vacation plans. People had tickets, visas, hotel bookings and all the other requirements for a holiday were in place, but everything went down the drain.

However, if you were one of those people who were all set to visit Spain and Slovakia this year, there is some good news for you. But, this good news is only for the people who had applied for a Schengen visa for these two places and had gotten it.

Were you travelling to Spain and Slovakia?

Due to COVID-19, all international flights were banned. Everyone’s travel plans were cancelled. A lot of people also suffered a loss of money because their bookings were non-refundable. People had questions about what would happen to the visas and hotel bookings.

However, the travellers, who had applied for a Schengen visa, especially for Spain and Slovakia and gotten it, can apply for the visa again. The visa application will not be chargeable and the travellers will for sure get the visa. Once things get back to normal, these people will be able to continue with their travel plans.

Pexels: Adrianna Calvo

This is not only for people who had tourist visas. Anyone and everyone is applicable for this waiver by these two countries. These special visas are known as gratis visas.

Though international flights are still banned, things seem to be getting better. The destination for the air bubbles from India are expanding. Recently, Maldives was also added to the list. It is yet to be decided, what the rules will be or when the flights will start. But things are getting better.

Malaika Arora recently shared her DIY trick to make a body scrub at home. She just used three ingredients and this is one scrub you ought to try.

We always look at photos and videos of our favourite celebs and wonder how do they look so fabulous all the time. We think about the products they use or skin treatments they undergo to make their skin flawless. But what makes us really happy is when these stars share their beauty secrets with us. Recently, Malaika Arora shared her secret to supple skin and we can’t wait to try it.

The stunner revealed how she makes a super-easy coffee body scrub at home. All she took were three easily available kitchen ingredients.

To make Malaika’s DIY body scrub, you need to mix ground coffee with brown sugar and coconut oil. For one usage, you can mix one tablespoon of coffee powder with two tablespoon of brown sugar and 2 teaspoon of organic coconut oil. Mix the ingredients together to make a paste. Rub it all over your body and massage in circular motion. Once done, wash the scrub off and put on your favourite moisturiser.

Now, this scrub has many benefits. While the brown sugar helps remove the dead skin, the aromatic coffee works as an amazing antioxidant and the coconut oil moisturises the skin. You can easily use this scrub two to three times a week. If you don’t wish to make fresh scrub every time, you can also make a wholesome quantity and store it in the refrigerator.

Masala Pomfret at home

Special treat for sea food lovers! Masala pomfret at home

In today’s edition of making cooking simple for you, we share a super-simple recipe for masala pomfret. Check it out below.

Who doesn’t like eating fish? It is light, full of protein and can be made in many different ways. Thinking about the different ways of making fish, we got a craving to eat one. So, we decided to wear our chef’s hat and do some experimenting.

We had a fresh piece of pomfret in our refrigerator, so we made masala pomfret. And to say the least, it was a short trip to heaven. This one is a no fuss, no muss recipe that will become your new favourite.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make masala pomfret

Pomfret fish 1 pcs
Garlic8 cloves
SaltAs per taste
Red chilliAs per taste
Roasted gram flour 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder1 tsp
Coriander powder1 tsp
Mustard oil 2-3 tsp
Banana leaves1-2 pcs
Butter1 tsp

Follow this method to make masala pomfret

Start with cleaning the fish. Once done, prepare the marination for the dish. Chop the garlic cloves finely to make a paste. After this, add salt and red chilli powder in the garlic paste. Then add roasted gram flour, turmeric powder and coriander powder. Finish the paste by adding a few drops of mustard oil.

Now, before coating the fish with the paste, grease it with mustard oil. It’s now time to wrap the fish in banana leaves. Wash the leaves and cut them in equal squares. Before wrapping the fish, heat the leaf a bit. This will protect the leaves from tearing apart.

After you have wrapped the fish with banana leaves, tie a thread around and put it in the refrigerator for one hour. It’s now time to cook the fish. There are two ways of doing this. Here, we have cooked the fish in the pan.

Heat the butter in a pan and put in the fish after unwrapping it and removing the banana leaves. Cook the fish for 3-4 minutes. You can also cook the fish in a steamer. Just put the wrapped wish in a steamer for 15-20 minutes and it will be ready!

Trip tips beach-cation

Things to keep in mind while planning a beach-cation

Can’t wait to go on a beach-cation? Here, we share with you some travel tips that will come in handy during your beach holiday.

With places slowly opening up again, we are all geared up to go on our next trip. Just imagine how amazing it would be to step out of our house after months to enjoy the beautiful views and good food.

But while thinking about where to go, we got confused between beach and mountain, and then, we thought to ourselves that we need to spend some time on the beach.

Just like us, if you, too, are planning a beach-cation, then here are some tips that will come in handy.

Picking the right month is important

While planning a vacation to the beach it is of utmost importance that you pick the right visiting time. You can’t go to the beach when it’s too hot or too humid. After all, what’s the point of just sitting in the hotel room and not enjoy the beach.

Tons and tons of sunscreen

Not only while sun bathing, putting on sunscreen is very important all the time, even if you are just taking a stroll at the beach. You may not notice, but your skin needs a protective layer to save itself from the harmful UV rays. You can pick a sunblock that has somewhere between SPF 30 to SPF 50.

Of bikinis and fancy sunglasses

Packing the right clothes is very important. Look for flowy cotton dresses or sultry bikinis or chic playsuits. And we all know how the right accessorises can take any look a notch higher. So, don’t forget to pack a chic pair of sunnies and a beach hat.

Don’t ignore the hotel

Just because you feel that you are going to spend all your time on the beach, you should not pick a shabby hotel. After a long day at the beach, you would want to come back to a nice place to rest and regain energy. So, it is a must that you book yourself a nice hotel.

Where should I keep my stuff?

We all love taking a dip in the sea. But when it comes to it, we always stop ourselves thinking ‘who will take care of our stuff while we are in the water?’ Now, you either carry a  waterproof pouch and carry all your stuff with you or you can take a locker at a shack by the beach. Never leave your stuff unattended thinking ‘who is going to take it?’

chocolate chip cookies

Gooey chocolate chip cookies – Recipe video

A warm freshly baked chocolate chip cookie is the best dessert that you can have. Here, we share with you the simple recipe with which you can make it at home.

Ok, so we were craving for something sweet but could not decide on what to eat. We finally opened the fridge and realised that we have all the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies. Yes, you know where we are going with this.

We made some really delicious and gooey chocolate chip cookies.

The taste of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth is something that words cannot do justice to. You have to have it to know what magical ride your tastebuds go through on devouring a decadent chocolate chip cookie.

So, without wasting any more time, let’s dive into the recipe.

Chocolate chip cookies – Recipe

Brown sugar3/4 cup
White sugar1/2 cup
Salt1/2 tsp
Butter (Melted)1/2 cup
Vanilla essence2 tsp
All-purpose flour 1 1/2 cup
Baking soda1/2 tsp
Chocolate chipsAs per requirement

In a bowl, mix the brown sugar with the white sugar, salt and melted butter. Give them a nice mix and then, add the egg. You will have to move the whisker thoroughly to mix everything evenly. Once done, add vanilla essence and mix again.

Using a sifter, add the all-purpose flour and baking soda in the bowl. Using a sifter helps mix the dry ingredients and also removes any unwanted clumps. Use a spatula to mix everything together. Do not mix too much because that will make the cookies hard.

Finally, when you have the right consistency of the dough, add chocolate chips. You can go crazy and add as many as you want. If you do not have chocolate chips, just add small chunks of any chocolate.

Now, leave the batter to chill. A minimum of half an hour of chilling is necessary. The more you leave the dough in the fridge, the better the cookies will be. For the most heavenly taste, leave them overnight.

While your dough is being chilled, preheat your over at 180 degrees Celsius. Put parchment paper on the baking tray and scoop some of that dough and put small balls of the dough on the tray.

Let the cookies bake for 10-15 minutes. After that, take them out of the oven and let them cool.

Enjoy these delicious cookies.

Germaphobes are the people who have a fear of germs and an obsession with cleanliness. While many may not understand this condition and may tag it as an ‘unnecessary tantrum’, we know how difficult it can be for germaphobes to travel.

Their fear of contracting germs can stop them from enjoying their vacation. But you don’t have to worry anymore. Here, we share with you five travel tips that will help you keep germs at the bay.

Always keep sanitiser handy

Because of the pandemic, we all have started carrying a sanitiser in our bags. But if you are obsessed with cleanliness, a single sanitiser will not suffice. You need to have one in all the bags you carry and a big one.

The towels that you get at the hotels are clean but the fact that they must have been used by someone else is enough to give sleepless nights to a germaphobe. An easy way to tackle this is, always carry your own towels. You can even buy disposable ones just for the trip.

Gloves are a must

Just think of how much you use your hands. From greeting people to picking out stuff, your hands come in contact with germs all day, everyday. Which is why you should always carry gloves.

Always mask it

Wearing a mask has become a necessity now, but a germaphobe should always keep their face masked even at the places where it is not required. This will give you a sense of security.

Vacation in Maldives

Dear Indians, it is time to holiday in Maldives

If you can’t wait to board a flight and go to the beach, we have good news for you. The Maldives is open for travel and you don’t need a prior visa.

Indians, get ready, it’s time to holiday in the Maldives. Earlier, India’s air bubbles were only with the US, UK, France and Germany. However, the air bubble destinations started increasing and the latest addition in this list is the Maldives.

The island nation opened again for tourists in July but the only problem was that there were no international flights from India. But that has been mended now. The flights from India to the Maldives will most probably start from August 18, Tuesday.

The External Affairs Minister of India, Dr S. Jaishankar recently announced the news on Twitter. He wrote, “Connectivity brings prosperity. Happy to announce the start of regular cargo ferry service between India & Maldives to boost trade & commerce. We’re also starting an air travel bubble with the Maldives to sustain & promote the dynamic people-to-people ties between the two countries.”

Do you know what this means? It means it is time for a vacation!

Also, Indians do not need a prior visa to go. You can simply get your visa on arrival.

But of course, there are some rules to travel to the Maldives.

  1. All the tourists are required to wear face masks at the airport and during the domestic travel.
  2. Every tourist will have a temperature screening at the airport arrival.
  3. Every traveller will have to fill a health declaration form once 24 hours before they board a flight and once they are set to depart.

However, it is still not clear that the same rules will apply to Indian citizens or not.

It is the holy grail for a lot of people and today, we are going to tell you if it is worth or not.

Mascara Review

Let’s first get done with the price. It comes in two sizes. The 4.8ml bottle would cost you Rs 1,050 and the 8ml bottle is for Rs 1,900.

Now let’s talk about the product. The first thing that you will notice when you open the mascara is the application wand. It has an hourglass structure which is very common with Too Faced’s mascaras. We have not seen a lot of other companies use a similar brush. The shape of the brush helps you get closer to the eye which is always a plus with the mascaras.

The mascara in itself applies like butter, it is really smooth and doesn’t make the lashes stick together as well. The best part is, unlike a lot of other mascaras, it does not become clumpy on your eyelashes. Instead, it curls them and gives you dramatic volume while making your lashes look longer.

It surely is an all in one product and you know what is better than one coat of a great mascara? Two coats of a great mascara; apply twice for best results.

However, there is some room for improvement, after a few hours, it does get a little flaky which is not a great thing for the price that you are paying.

Our rating – 4/5

We will surely buy it again.

Fly to UAE to watch IPL

Indian cricket lovers might be able to attend IPL in UAE. Here’s how

If you do not want to miss the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches being held in UAE this year, here is how you can attend them.

If there is one thing that we all would agree to is that cricket is treated as a religion in India. So, the fans of the game already know that the delayed Indian Premier League (IPL), that we all have been waiting for so long, is happening in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

But why are we talking about this? Well, there is some good news for the people who want to go watch the matches. There is a possibility that you might be able to go watch the match in the UAE.

Without wasting any more precious time, let us tell you how you can attend IPL

On Monday, the government of India allowed all Indian citizens who have a UAE visa to travel there.

The matches will take place all across the Emirates, including tourist favourite places Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The matches will be held from September 19 to November 10. However, there is one problem. The social distancing norms for the matches have not yet been finalised by the UAE government. Whether people will be allowed inside the stadiums or not or even if a small percentage of the stadiums will be filled, nothing is clear as of yet.

When it comes to travelling to the Emirates, things have gotten a little easier. India and the UAE formed a corridor amongst themselves. With this, any airlines from both the countries can fly an Indian citizen there. This is applicable only if the Indian national has a valid UAE visa.

That was not the case initially, but this comes as great news for cricket lovers.

Of course, similar to other places, the Indian travellers will also have to present a negative PCR test at the UAE airport. These tests cannot be conducted more than 96 hours prior to the departure.

Isn’t this great news?

New rules make international travel easier

New flying rules make it easier for Indians to travel abroad. Read on

Some new rules and regulations have been applied regarding foreign travel. This will make it easier for Indians to fly abroad.

Since the novel coronavirus outbreak, the rules related to flying are being changed every minute. From a blanket ban on flying to making air bubbles with other nations and bringing stranded Indians back home, things have been changing quite quickly.

Now, there is another set of rules that are applicable for people who are flying out of the country. People who are flying in the country via these air bubbles also have to follow new rules.

If you are flying out of the country

Earlier, you were only allowed to leave India if you were a resident of that country or had long visa approval and needed to go back for some important work. You could also fly if there were some important business decisions to be taken.

However, that is not the case anymore. People who have any kind of visa for either Germany, France and the US can now fly to these locations.

You will also have to make sure about the requirements and the protocols that are being followed at your destination and plan accordingly.

If you are trying to come back to India

If you are trying to come back to India using these air bubbles, the rules have become a little less stringent. Only certain categories of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) were allowed to travel via these air bubbles. But that is not the case anymore. All the OCI’s can now enter India without any problem. The Ministry of Civil Aviation announced the same in a recent tweet.

That is not all. Citizens of the countries that are a part of the air bubbles with India can now apply for Indian visa. They can come here for business, medical and employment purposes.

You can read more about the air bubbles here.

Style mistakes to dodge

5 style mistakes you should always avoid

Worried that instead of making a style statement, your sartorial pick may get tagged as a faux pas? Here, we share with you five style mistakes that you should never make.

Getting ready is not just putting on layers of clothes, it’s an art not many are proficient at. Building a look is no cakewalk and those who take it as a therapy would know how relaxing it can be. But if you are a fashion enthusiast, then you would also know how easily a look can go wrong.

There are several things that can easily go wrong, making a look go from ‘wow’ to ‘damn no’. In order for you to avoid the same, we share with you five style mistakes that you should always dodge.

Too much neon is a big no-no

Neon has been in the trend for the longest time. But acing this colour palette is not easy. Make sure that only one item in your look is neon. It can either be your top or lowers or shoes. You can even pair an all-white outfit with a neon bum bag. But never go all out with this colour.

Only one statement jewellery

One thing that you should always keep in mind is that you should only have one eye-catcher in your look. It can either be the earrings or the necklace or the belt. Having too much accessories can make the look go wrong.

Don’t go too basic

While going all out with colours should be avoided, going too basic is also a mistake that you should never do. Basic is boring but that can be easily change that with a bit of colour pop. It can be a pink eye shadow with an all-black outfit or an oversized tan bag with a white dress.

Avoid cakey makeup

The way you do your makeup can make or break the look. And doing cakey base is one of the biggest style mistakes. Remember your base should always be as light and as natural as it can be. Balancing the makeup is also very important. If you are going for bold eyes, then you should always opt for nude lips and vice-a-versa.

Wrong footwear can spoil the look

Many may not agree to it but footwear makes a lot of difference. Picking the right one is very important. Imagine the horror of teaming a kurta-palazzo set with boots or sneakers. That’s nothing less than a disaster.

Dot & Key vitamin C serum review

PRODUCT REVIEW: Dot & Key vitamin C serum concentrate

With the goodness of kakadu prune and acerola cherry, the ‘glow revealing’ vitamin C serum from Dot & Key aims at enhancing skin brightness. Read our review of the product below.

When it comes to skincare, we often pick products that don’t contain any chemicals. However, there are some chemicals that can do wonders for your skin and should definitely be a part of your skincare regime. Hyaluronic acid is one such chemical. If used correctly, it can have many skin benefits such as reduced dry skin and fine lines. It may also decrease hyperpigmentation.

And there is one skincare line that is giving the goodness of hyaluronic acid packed with many other amazing ingredients in their product. You guessed it right, we are talking about Dot & Key. Read our review of their vitamin C serum below.

Dot & Key glow revealing vitamin C serum concentrate review

Let’s start with the packaging, the serum comes in a pretty yellow box that gives you all the information you’ll need about the product. The serum bottle seems durable and comes with a dropper. The 30 ml packaging will cost you Rs 975, which is pretty affordable when compared to other face serums. However, there is one drawback, this product is available only in one size.

Kakdu prune and acerola cherry are two of its main ingredients. The product claims to ‘boost collagen production, accelerates repair and smoothens expression lines’. We would say that it does combat dullness, making the skin look bright instantly. As for the pigmentation removal and reduced signs of ageing, you cannot expect that to happen overnight. You’ll have to use the product regularly for a while for it to show the results.

Coming to the usage, as soon as you’ll open the bottle, you will know that it is packed with vitamin C because of its fragrance. This is a thick serum, so 4-5 drops would be enough at a time. You can just take the product on your palm and then put it on your face and massage it all over.

While the brand suggests that this serum should be used every night, btw this is a PM serum, we would suggest that you should start by putting it three times a week. And once your skin gets used to it, you can increase the usage. Apart from that, we would also suggest that before applying this on your face, you should do an allergy test. Because it is a chemical-laden product, it is always better to know if your skin has any negative reactions to it.

To sum it up, we would say that you should definitely give it a try. The quality and quantity of this serum are good and it is pretty affordable. It does show good results given that you use it for a while. We would definitely put in our must-try list.

In a bowl, add maida along with yeast, sugar and salt. Mix them nicely. Once done with that, add yoghurt. Finally, add water to this mixture and knead a dough. Do not knead too much. Once the mixture takes shape of the dough, cover it with a little bit of oil. Cover the dough with a wet cloth and keep it aside for 30 minutes.

After that, knead the dough again to remove the air from it. Once done, cover the dough again with a little bit of oil and keep aside for another 20 minutes.

For the next step, preheat the oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees. Grease your baking tray and keep the dough in it for 10 minutes so that it takes the shape of the tray.

Now, this is when you become artistic. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and put them on the bread however you like it and do the same with the basil leaves. You can also add a lot of spices. Basically, add everything you want your focaccia to have. Cover with a little butter on top.

Bake for 30 minutes at 180 degrees Celcius and enjoy this delicious bread.

Rihanna’s nighttime skincare routine

Rihanna starts her nighttime skincare routine by cleansing her skin and removing the makeup. For this step, while she uses a two-in-one makeup remover and cleanser from her beauty line, you can have two products to do the task. With the help of a makeup remover/micellar water/coconut oil, you can first remove the makeup and then clean your skin by using a face wash/cleanser.

Giving a quick tip, the singer also shared that hydrating the skin is very important. For this, apart from drinking water, one can also keep hydrating their face with a mist. She also shared that vitamin C is also very important for the skin.

Coming to the second step, after cleaning her skin, Rihanna then puts on fat water, which is a combination of a toner and a serum. For this step, too, you can go for two separate products – toner and serum.

Step 3

For the final step, the diva uses a moisturiser from her beauty like, which also has sunscreen combined in it. For this step, you can just use your favourite moisturiser. But during the day, you need to double it with a sunscreen.

France recently announced that it will be welcoming guests from 16 nations. These include some of the nations that have been badly affected by the novel coronavirus. India and the USA are also on this 16-nation list.

If they fail to do so, these passengers will not be allowed to take the flight.

Travellers from the remaining countries will be allowed to take the PCR test at the airports in Paris if they do not have the test with them and will be in isolation till the results come.

Food mistakes to avoid

5 dinner mistakes you should always avoid

We binge on the most unhealthy meal in the night. Listed below are five dinner mistakes that you should always avoid. Read on…

We eat breakfast in a hurry because we have to get to somewhere, we eat lunch in a hush-hush manner because something or the other is happening in our life. For most of us, dinner is the only meal that we enjoy to the fullest. But, not many know that it is the only meal that you should enjoy the least.

By this, we don’t mean that you should not eat tasty food, what we mean is that dinner should be light and healthy. Thanks to the Internet, one can get recipes for a variety of tasty and healthy dishes online. But still, there are other things that one needs to take care of.

Here, we share with you five dinner mistakes that you should always avoid.

Never opt for a heavy meal

You must have often heard people saying that breakfast should be the heaviest meal of the day and dinner should be the lightest. This is because after eating dinner, you go off to bed in a short span of time. So, if you eat something heavy, your body will not get time to break down the food. This can make you lethargic and will not help if you are trying to lose weight.

Say no to eating late

For the very same reason that we shared above, you should not eat late dinners. If you eat early, your body will get proper time to break down the food and release the energy. You will also be able to consume the energy before you go off to sleep.

Midnight snacks are out of the question

Let’s be honest, midnight snacks are delicious no matter what you eat, but eating such meals can harm your body. This can increase your blood sugar level and can lead to acidity and heart diseases.

Never eat a meal full of carbs

You should avoid eating refined carbs for dinner, however, if you really want, you can eat good carbs that your body will not take too much time to break down. You should also avoid eating fatty foods.

Always avoid eating salt

If you wish to lose weight, then you should really cut back on salt, especially during dinner time. The body’s metabolism is the slowest in night, which is why people always advise to not eat too much salt in dinner. However, if you don’t follow this, excess consumption of salt can be harmful for your body.
