Have extra chutney? Put in the freezer 

Indians loves eating their snacks with mint chutney and anyways, what’s a dosa without coconut chutney. But every time we make a chutney at home, we are unable to consume the entire thing at once and it goes to waste. Not anymore! Next time you make a chutney, put the remaining portion in the freezer in an air tight jar. When you require it again, just take it out and let it defrost. It will taste super fresh. 

Curd is too sour to eat? Don’t throw it

If you have made curd at home or have got it from the market and it has become too sour to eat, don’t throw it, instead make cottage cheese out of it. All you’ll need to do is put fresh milk on flame and add the curd to it. Let it boil. Once the milk solidifies, pass it through a sieve. Wrap the cottage cheese in a muslin cloth and let it set. 

Have extra rice? Give it an interesting twist

If you have leftover rice, then you can easily make fried rice from them. In a pan, sauté the vegetables of your choice. To this add schezwan sauce, white vinegar, soy sauce and ajinomoto. Add in the rice and mix well. And a new dish is ready. 

Can’t finish the chilly chicken/paneer at at once? Roll it up 

Quite often we are unable to finish the portion of chilly chicken/paneer we make after putting in a lot of effort. But when it comes to eating the same dish again, we end up making faces. So, next time when you have leftover chilly chicken/paneer, chop the pieces and use it as a pizza topping. You can also add mayonnaise or any other sauce of your choice and make a roll out of it. 

Need to make the perfect cake? Cut it with a floss

What is the toughest task while baking? It’s not making the perfect batter and it’s not making the on-point frosting. It is cutting the cake from between perfectly so that we can put that extra layer of ganache. Now, cut the cake from the middle perfectly every time you bake. All you need is an unflavoured dental floss. Take a string of the floss and wrap it around the cake, making a x-shape. Pull both ends till the floss passes through the cake and you’ll have two clean halves.
