3 DIY oatmeal face packs for healthy skin

Say goodbye to the excess oil on your face as we bring to you three super simple homemade oatmeal face packs.

We always prefer going the au naturel way when it comes to skincare. And while there is a huge variety of face packs available in the market, we always prefer the DIY way. 

So, in today’s edition of going organic with beauty, we share with you three easy-to-make oatmeal face masks. Oatmeal is a type of coarse flour made of hulled oat grains and is amazing for your skin. 

Benefits of oatmeal for skin: 

  1. Oatmeal soaks up the excess oil on the skin and can be helpful in treating acne.
  2. It has amazing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which is why it is helpful in treating dry skin. 
  3. Oatmeal also removes dead skin cells.
  4. Oats contain compounds called saponins, which are natural cleansers. These compounds remove the dirt and oil, which clog the pores and exfoliate the skin. 
  5. It is also laden with amino acids, which may lighten marks, skin discolouration and dark spots. 

Now that you know the amazing benefits, let’s get to making the oatmeal face packs. 

Face pack 1: 

To make this face pack, you’ll need to add one tablespoon of gram flour (besan) along with one tablespoon of ground  oats in a clean bowl. To this, add one tablespoon of rose water and one teaspoon of honey. Mix all the ingredients together to make a paste. This one will be like a thick paste. Once it gets dry, it will act as a scrub while you remove it and this will help in tan removal also. 

Face pack 2: 

For this face mask, you will have to add 1/4 cup of raw milk and two tablespoons of ground oats in a bowl with one tablespoon of curd. Mix them well and add one teaspoon of honey and mix again. This pack will have a liquid consistency. There is a chance that you will have leftover pack after you are done putting it on your face. Fret not, you don’t have to waste the pack, you can just put it in a container and store it in your refrigerator. It can be used upto four days.

Face pack 3:

While preparing this face pack, you will have to add one tablespoon of chilled rose water in a clean bowl along with one tablespoon of raw milk and two teaspoon tomato purée. To this, add one tablespoon of ground oats and mix well. This one will also have a liquid consistency but will not be too liquidy like the previous one. 

You can store this face pack in the refrigerator as well. It is just the first one that will get really thick if you don’t use it in time. Also, if you think that the consistency of your face pack is too watery, then you can mix all the ingredients together and keep it aside for 15-20 minutes. The oatmeal will soak up the liquid and the pack will become thick.
